Those saying 10-9 was acceptable are as bad as the judges. While I agree, Garcia was technically ahead that round, he didn’t meet the historical threshold for a 10-9 round.

I agree with this. Now if you had them badly hurt a number of times and there was a flash KD I could see the 10-9 thing there but for me if it’s a KD it’s a 10-8

A knockdown is a lost point. a 10-9 round to Garcia becomes 9-9 due to the knockdown, which is the same as 10-10. So it's completely fine, isn't it?

Yeah. I noticed that too. Garcia did well in the round but not enough to get the extra point nullified. L I've seen fights were guys were handily winning a round more impressively tha RG was and get dropped in the last 30 seconds and it was scored 10-8 by all the judges.

The three judges were all very experienced....
    Tim Cheatham 564 fights judged.
    Dave Moretti. 1350 fights judged
Steve Weisfeld 2375 fights judged....A total of Four Thousand Two Hundred and Eighty Nine fights between them !

And yet, some of the scoring was mystifying, right off the wall.

Round 1: Dave Moretti scored it for Davis. It was a CLEAR Garcia round.

    Round 2: Cheatham and Weisfeld scored it 10 - 9 ! Dave Moretti scored it 10-10 !!!

It was a fairly clear 10 - 8 for Tank.
A small (very small) case can be made for 10-9.
There is no case whatsoever for 10-10.

From there on, they got it mostly right.
Two of the three had Tank up by three points going into round 7, and the other had him up by two

So overall, by round seven, their overall scores were close to reality.

But how they all got there was a bit muddled, even random.

Considering their experience, and how they scored some rounds, it as probably Lucky for Tank that in the end, he didn't need the judges.

Judges dont normally score it this way, but I think Garcia won the round handilly before he knockdown, but because of the knockdown what would have been a 10-9 for Garcia became an even round to the judges.
Normally judges are so stupid they dont score a round where there's a knockdown properly, In this case they actually got it right.
Garcia was winning the round handily and the knockdown at the end of the round turned what would have been a 10-9 round to Garcia into an even round for Davis on one card and on the other two cards the knockdown flipped the round to Davis. In other words one punch took away all the work Garcia did in round 2.
To have scored it 10-8 for Davis would have been giving Davis a 3 point swing on a solid knockdown, but one that did'nt appear to hurt Garcia enough to have him in serious trouble.
For once here the judges scored properly.

I would score it 9-8, Tank lost the round but Garcia got dropped so it should been scored 9-8.

I can see why they scored the round a draw though because Tank was losing the round big until the KD, hard round to score fairly because even with the KD Tank did not win the round.

It’s definitely not a conspiracy like some like to think, Tank was up on all score cards so the judges was fair.

If a fighter wins a round after being knocked down, I’ve seen them lose 10-9 instead of 10-8. Or if they were winning the round the whole time and got knocked down at the end. I always looked at it like you gained a point back.

    10-10? Fire that judge.

    Doesn't necessarily explain it though.

At the end of six, their scores more or less reflected reality.
It was just how they got there that was screwed up.
