At least Oscar beat the canvas in pain but Ryan had a happy face after the 10 count.

Hows that? He slid back and took a knee. He just may of managed to survive, he wasnt writhing on the mat like some body shots.

Many people in this thread need to experience taking a liver blow from a pro boxer and see if they can stand back up before 10 seconds have passed. And of course having to immediately reengage with said boxer once you do stand up from the shaky legs.

That was my thoughts as well, I believe that shot really hurt, but he looked beaten and I think he decided that's enough.

He got blasted in the 2nd and he was gunshy after that.
The body shot, which was not a liver shot as everyone is saying, was a great shot that got a delayed response.
Looked to me like Ryan saw the writing on the wall and quit before it went from bad to worse.
He didn't seem upset that he didn't beat the count. He was waiting for 10.

After team Davis was going on before the fight about how their "mole" said Ryan was injured to the body in sparring during his camp it makes you wonder if Brendan Schaub knows something.

He got a bloody nose earlier in the round and then a shot landed in his left ribcage taking him by surprise and making him take a knee with plans of getting up at the count of nine, but while the referee was counting he decided he had enough and left the count reach ten before attempting to get up. As simple as that.

Yep agree with this he was hurt and knew he was outgunned. I think that he could've continued at that point but he knew things were gonna get worse for him so he made the decision to stay down instead of get up and try to survive the rest of the round.

It looked like it both seriously hurt & he quit as a result of that serious pain
& made a conscious decision to avoid more punishment as he had zero answers for anything Tank had in his arsenal.

& to be fair was a Hell of a body shot
Any fool here talking tough takes a shot like that & would have been roached by it.

I think he quit, but I don’t think quitting is a cardinal sin like many others do.

He got hurt to the body, he jumped up at the 10 count so he wasn’t in debilitating pain, but probably just felt the fight wasn’t gonna get any better for him… The few times he opened up, he got clocked, and the couple times he landed a good shot, it didn’t phase Tank at all.

Nothing wrong with that, its a sport, not a fight to death.

He was hurt. He got hit with an explosive well timed liver/sternum shot.

He was hurt but he could of continued, took the easy way out as he knew he was beaten.
