For the people who watched the fight live, Did Ryan QUIT or Was he seriously HURT?

No doubt about it.

 

He was hurt bad liver shots are tough to get up from. I remember maidana getting up from one against khan but it rarely happens.

 

Shame, really. Garcia was nowhere near ready for such a tough opponent. If he had been brought up the old fashioned way, he would've slowly but surely improved through ramping up opponents, learning more each time. He's young and has time, but does he have the ferocity & desire?

 

You can't fake being hurt from a liver shot. Anybody that's been hit there knows this

 

He was down but he could have got up. Look at his face right when going down he looks up and smiles at Tank and then looks down again

 

Yeah.... He was physically able to get up.... But in that moment believe the pain and experience of the liver shot killed his psych.... And probably felt he would not be able to compete that well anymore or not wanting to go out on stretcher

 

I also do not think less of him for not getting up.... Think he was brave to take the fight in the first place and gave it a good go....

 

Both. He could have got up but he was very hurt.

He was up and walking at 10.

 

If you've never taken a hard hit to liver its hard to understand how it feels. There is, most of the time a delay, and it then completely disables your core.

 

Never like to say it but for me he quit.

 

That punch hurt more than any other that night. He was dropped twice , cannot forget that.

 

Solid shot, it was a legit stoppage. He wasn’t going to do anything except get knocked out cold if he continued. Props to this young man for taking the fight. At that age, Tank was fighting bums and trash talking. More guys need to take chances like Garcia. It didn’t end well but he’s young and will come back. That protect the zero mentality too many fighters have these days is bad for the sport. Wilder took it to the next level.

 

Both could be true but I give him the benefit of the doubt that he was seriously hurt.

 

I feel the same way. He got up the instant the ref called the fight. That's what I find odd. If you're hurt you're hurt. The pain of a liver shot doesn't instantly dissipate once the count reaches 10.

 

A mix of both body shots are killer especially when you too big for a weight and have to drain down along with a rehydration clause… all that leads to weaker body and a weaker chin…saying that tho he likely could have kept going in that moment for how much longer who knows
