Hatton didn't have to deal with Tszyu's punches, in large part because of Dave Paris' incompetence in allowing him to wrestle.

Compare what Kosya did to Zab with how Mayweather fared.

Floyd has decent power, but nothing spectacular, not close to Tszyu in that department.

Floyd's genius lies in his speed, fitness, athleticism and great defense. He's very probably still the best pure boxer even now.

Well, then it's easily an agree to disagree thing here.

Somewhat underrated, Remember Ricky Hatton was walking through bombs all his career..

    "Since he met Floyd Mayweather"

As I responded to you in another thread, Floyd couln't stop Margarito with a baseball bat.

If they ever fought (unlikely), my money would be on Floyd by a clear decision. But it would more resemble the Baldomir fight than the Hatton one.

And it would be riskier for Floyd than Baldo was.

Hatton was taking bombs from a KO artist in Kostya Tszyu and they say in boxing that the last thing to go for an older fight is his power. Ricky was getting hit flush by some lethal shots.

    Floyd KO'd him ...

He knocked down JLC - which at the time wouldve been the only official knockdown of his career.

He hurt Oscar De La Hoya pretty bad in the 5th round of their fight ...

He hurt Zab Judah pretty bad during their fight ...

I think his hand issues have raised alot of questions about his power or lack thereof ... but i'm sure this guy can hit pretty hard when it comes down to it.

I agree with you guys when you say that it can be contributed to his speed and accurracy, but those punches are having their effect at the same time -- you have to give this man some credit for doing what he's done.

He's an underrated body puncher thats for sure --

I predicted the round that Floyd Mayweather would KO Ricky Hatton, very few people thought Floyd Mayweather could KO Hatton.

Kostya never got to land any bombs on Hatton. The ref saw to that.

When he landed his bomb on Zab, the result was the chicken dance.

i thought that too, even thought about 10th or 11th, but that was due to floyds abilty. I thought floyd would open up hatton and thats wat he did. he ko'd him becos of his accurate punches, every one was landing flush.

Obviously, I don't know it for sure.

The whole point of hypotheticals is to offer opinion.

And some opinion is better grounded in reality than others.

But we don't know such stuff for sure.

tszyu did land big shots on hatton but the Hatton camp knew before hand that most of the power came at the end of his shots, like the way he caught judah as he was going back.

Ricky even dropped his hands to take a punch for the fun of it :yep

I too predicted a Mayweather KO of Hatton late in the fight, because although Hatton took KT punches well he could barely get by the presicion pucnhes he recieved from Collazo, so I personally feel the last time I underrated Floyd's power was in his fight against Oscar other than that I think I've judged Floyd quite well and if i'm not so sure of somethingI stay quiet, having said that I do not believe Mayweather knocks out Margarito, simple.
