Absolutely no way in hell does Ali run the gauntlet and keep his 0.

And don't even start with this "it's Ali at his very best, but he gets to fight old Tyson and old Holyfield"...

If Ali gets to be in his prime for every fight, then he gets a prime version of Tyson a prime version of Holy, prime Vitali, etc etc....

And if he fights the older version, he comes in older too...

Either way, Tyson alone could potentially end the streak, before we ever even get into any of the others.

Prime Ali vs Prime Tyson, I actually favor Tyson, but you could make an argument either way...
But 36 year old Tyson would crush 36 year old Ali. The guy was a walking punching bag and he had onsets of dementia for gods sake .
Tyson was a shell of himself for sure, but not to the level of old man Ali

Also how the hell is Holmes underrated? Most have him in the top 3 H2H, despite struggling with his mediocre opposition.

He also is often as highly rated as number 3 on an ATG list, despite ducking his best opponents and deserving challengers and failing to unify.

 

I do hold Holmes in pretty high regard, but can't say that I've ever seen him in a top 3 spot...most placements I've seen for him are in the bottom half of the top 10.

I do think of him as underrated however, or at the very least underappreciated.

Not really sure who he "ducked"...too bad he and Foreman never crossed paths, but that wasn't Larry's fault.

I think Larry fought every big name of his era of any relevance, he had some damn entertaining fights, was a regular 15 round fighter, and had the size and the skills to compete in any era. He wasn't no punk either, I remember him drop kicking Trevor Berbick off the roof of a Cadillac, the guy truly had no B in him

 

Maybe if the '67 version of Ali gets to fight them all. But over the course of his career, some might pick him off. Unlike in his own time, there'd be no Henry Cooper/Floyd Patterson sized heavies, he'd be fighting 6-3 220lb (and bigger) men from the outset, with the increased ringwear that would bring. Holyfield and Vitali would have the best chance.

 

I'll give you Dokes. He was indeed rated #3, so that's a fair shout. Though it's a shame you couldn't have stayed on point and countered with this, several posts ago.

Either way, how Dokes maintained a Ring Rating throughout the '80s (save for '86/'87) is inexplicable. He was Ring Rated #5 by July '88 without having beaten any ranked fighters since 1982.

Holyfield/Dokes was a great fight (Dokes' last hurrah) for sure but, despite the TKO loss, Dokes remained rated at #5 and, during the second half of that same year, jumped another two places for registering wins against no one of note (Bobby Crabtree; Wesley Watson; Lionel Washington). His conditioning and performance against Washington was dire.

I don't know about Holyfield/Dokes being voted the Heavyweight Fight of the Decade, but Dokes should have been summarily awarded the 'Most Protected Rating of the Decade'.

 

He has a good chance.
Ali was still green and prone to mistakes.
Plus he was skinnier too.

 

You're making a confusion.
Most have him top 3 in term of greatness, achievements, not in terms of H2H.
Most people will pick guys like Ali, Tyson, Lewis, Fury for the H2H.
