Tank has done well in his career so far. Now he needs to beat a Stevenson, or Haney, or a Loma, or a Teofilo (might be too big for him as well as Taylor) or even a Kambosos. WITHOUT a catchweight, a dehydration clause, a gloves arguement, control over boxing trunks, and/or ring walk music. Just box.
You're right, and he never will as long as he's a deck stacking punk ass *****. Which will most likely not change in the foreseeable future. I guess needing a gift against an undrained actual 135 pounder told him all he needed to know about his true ceiling.
Anyone saying he’s “slow” and meaning it is a hater…. He telegraphs a lot and has some bad habits that his great speed won’t overcome when in there with the elites.. Tank is elite. And when Garcia was busy Tank didn’t even attempt to throw with him or catch him in the middle of an exchange, just timing him before or after… Which is a smart move against an extremely fast fighter, especially when you have their timing down like Davis did Garcia….
Garcia is obviously quick but Tank’s timing was just better, couple the fact landing a hook on a short, smart southpaw is definitely difficult since all you really need to do is turn your shoulder away. Still a good win but Tank was the favourite to win for a reason.
You know in TV and movies when shitty writters try to make a character smarter than the others ? It's often by making the others dumber. Same thing here. People want to praise Tank's win but do it by shitting on his opponent. They do it for every fighters really. ''always knew he was a hype job'' ''never was that good'' etc.
His speed is good. It’s what kept Davis on a leash for most of the first two rounds. Garcia just doesn’t have anything in the tool bag other than a left hook which is usually an ineffective punch against a short, crouching southpaw.
Garcia has that fast flashy raw speed but Tank's got that sneaky, you don't see it coming speed because he sets up his well timed shots through clever boxing.
Every time you make a post about this you are further downgrading the win. No such thing as a great win that makes you the face of boxing and the opponent sucks at the same time.
