Derek Chisora vs Dave Allen is ON? // Fightzone PPV

Allen revealed on his Instagram story yesterday that his promoter Dennis Hobson was pursuing a fight with Derek Chisora for him. Fightzone have a deal with the BBC which Hobson wants to use to promote the PPV on Fightzone.

Seems very unlikely but nothing surprises me anymore.

We're really plumbing the depths if this sort of thing is aiming for a PPV. Notwithstanding the boxers are probably doing more harm than good to themselves for taking part in it.

 

It's not a bad fight, both should retire, Chisora is a level or two above Allen, I see a points win for Chisora. I struggle to see though how Chisora would get himself up and motivated for this fight.

 

I struggle to see how anyone can possibly be motivated to fork out PPV to watch two long standing journeymen.

 

Chisora stops Dave Allen. Despite the fact he is well past his best, Allen is also well past his best. And his best wasn’t even good enough to beat Lenroy Thomas.

To be fair whenever I see a British fight announced that hasn't been posted here, I start a thread on it. Done it for many non-Matchroom shows, even the small-hall BT show on Friday headlined by Willy Hutchinson.

You'd be surprised. Dave Allen is a strange one, he says that he's waiting for a big fight but he's been saying the same thing for about 6 months. I don't even see how Dennis Hobson will be able to pay Chisora what he wants. He would probably stop Allen in the first round.

 

I'll give Drama big props, he's never been a cry baby about the ribbing. I really don't think he works for Dazn at all but he's alright regardless.

This fight is pointless. And I'm really looking forward to it. Chisora is almost a meme these days. I hope Allen beats him.

 

Chisora should definitely win. He battered Price who made Allen look silly.

I hope Dave wins though.

I guess the saudis are not paying Derek enough to carry their bags. I couldn’t think of many other dreadful fights which would match this mess.

 

I wonder if the board will even approve the fight.

 

Probably the first and last time we'll see Price used as a benchmark on here!

 

This might be an interesting spectacle for curiosity but it is not good for boxing!
