The White fight will always be there win or lose. They'll be decent money in a rematch with the Chinaman. Then there's always about a 10 or 20% chance he actually wins and then has another monster pay day come his way with the title fight. It's pro boxing. The idea is to get paid. He'll go where the money is.
Stupid move. Even if he manages to win (and I doubt he can) it would cost him half his brain. Not worth it imho.
joyce cant win. hes just not good enough naturally, and hes too old to teach him what he needs to do against a guy like zhang. a guy who can box. zhang will just be better, cause he already saw where the holes are, while joyce will look confused trying to implement what they told him he needs to do. joyce was just never good. hes tough, thats it.
There parallels to draw between Kownacki/Helenius as well. Kownacki like Joyce was known for his lack of defense, but durability and engine that saw him through fights. Against Helenius it finally caught up to him and he wasn't the same in the rematch. Granted Joyce is a superior fighter to Kownacki with a lot more going for him offensively and he can certainly win here, but it wouldn't be surprising to see a repeat. Joyce has to hope that he's not beaten too much by the time the 2nd half arrives and Zhang has faded. That's a lot to gamble with. Even if can pull the win off it's more likely than not going to come with the cost of him absorbing a lot of punishment.
Joyce has a punchers chance. He is big and strong and Zhang tires. I think it will be a closer fight this time around.
Hopefully Zhang can finish the Joyce story. Isn't it amazing how you have to beat these UK fighters twice to move on, even when they don't have belts. What a disgrace that island is.
Of course Fury was all ready to flatten Zhang, until this shock rematch announcement. It would be pure madness to suggest that the Fury camp knew of Joyces intentions and talked up a Zhang showdown knowing it would never happen. Fury is after all a fighting man who cares nothing for money or titles.
Clever ploy by Joyce......now if Fury is serious about fighting Zhang then Joe can expect hefty step aside money
I expect Zhang to knock him out this time. He seems to be the better boxer. Joe is too slow and has no defense.
Fury will use this as an excuse not to fight Zhang and it will give him enough time to find an easy opponent to make some easy money...
