He means Hagler-Leonard...but I think most of us would disagree that Marvin was in his prime in 87.

No but you said Marvin wasn't in decline so I presumed you were talking about him.
    Hagler wasn't in prime....

    I'd definitely say he wasn't.

Was he past his prime when he OKd John Mugabi the year prior?

He retired at the age of 32 I hardly think he was fading that fast.

He struggled with Mugabi- a tough night for him.

    He struggled against The beast.
He'd had a long hard career, fighters age differently.
Look at the difference in Joe Louis and Holyfield for instance.

I remember cringing a bit when I saw poor old Hags do that jig.

Still a difficult fight for Hagler. Duran was a blown up lightweight and was able to do what he did, if he could make it close, then so could Leonard.

Fans complain Hagler-Leonard wasn't made until 1987, but Leonard was still 147 when Hagler was at his best, sometimes it takes a little while to grow into the weight.

Did he throw in a 'woo' as well? I think he may have done and Marv aint a 'woo' guy, no way.

Funny, I've only just realised I have my Hagler t-shirt on today.

Of course he was. I've never heard anyone say other in my life. It was brutally obvious he'd gone downhill when he had to slug to get past Mugabi.

......rrrrright Mugabi never held any belts at all. I mean so what if he was the super welterweight champion? So what if he took silver in the Olympic games... all insignificant things.

Ray Leonard in 1987 wasnt what he had been in 1980 or 1981, in earlier years he would school Hagler much worse. THe best chance for Hagler is to fight as a southpaw and pressure Leonard ala Duran instead of walking around following him like he did.
