7-5 Loma. Just got around to watching it and was going into it thinking it's one of those "robberies" that fanboys are always mad about so I was ready to give Haney every benefit of the doubt. But yeah wrong guy won IMO. I can see a draw but I don't really see Haney W. I just thought that Haney's punches were kind of pitter-patter and even the rounds he won it was sort of like "eh, I'll give this one to him". Loma had 2-3 rounds that were dominant. I'm honestly kind of tired of RBR judging, I don't think it's a good way to determine a winner and that's probably why there's so much grievance with results of fights.
It was a learning experience for Haney, that's for sure. The way Haney dominated Kambosos was a little surprising. It was also surprising (to some) how much he struggled with Loma. Some thought Loma would win, and credit to them for having more confidence in Loma than I did, so they feel justified by how well he fought. Expectations also play a role in how we scored it. If you expected Loma to win, chances are you'd have him winning a fight like this. If you expected him to lose, chances are you'd have Haney winning. I expected Haney to win, and was pleasantly surprised by how well Loma fought. I still thought Haney did enough, but I get the other side and respect those who saw Loma winning.
I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that this poll will close on Oct 4, 2050, so make sure you get your votes in.
7-5 Loma. Good fight, shadowed once again by shameless corruption. 8-4 Loma would be easier to see than 7-5 Haney... Close, no. Competitive, yes. It was a clear win for Lomachenko.
7/5 Haney. Thought Loma completely blew it by not going all-in in the 11th when Haney was on rubber legs. Loma didn't land body punches either. Haney landed plenty & they count. Can agree it was close & am not offended by those who scored to Loma but I think there's a large proportion of people who feel Loma won who obviously watched television coverage that must have strongly favoured him. I didn't & don't.
Coming from the guy who consistently has terrible scorecards and boxing opinions, take your own advice.
It’s almost like I want to watch it again just to score it properly but I just didn’t enjoy it, can’t get behind Haney’s style 1 bit. It was 5am for me and even I could see Loma won that fight, a lot of the rounds were close though.
