Regardless of your opinion on the decision, do you consider Haney a great fighter?

Apparently, I am something of a unicorn in that I scored the fight for Lomachenko (watched it again, still gave it to Loma 7-5) but found Haney impressive on a number of levels. He boxed very, very well in spots Saturday night, displayed an excellent ring IQ, and showed some real grit in that final round.

Haney doesn't strike me as a special talent --I believe Stevenson and Tank are both more physically gifted--but he's a tough out for anyone at 135lbs.

I would say this, if Spence, Crawford, Ennis, Canelo, and GGG are considered "special" than Haney should be considered special as well since he has beaten better-quality opposition compared to Spence, Crawford, Ennis. and GGG. And P4P, I don't see a fighter like Canelo beating a 154 to 168 version of Haney.

Haney's resume, notwithstanding Lomachenko (whom many, myself included, believe won the fight), is rather thin. Gamboa and Linares were absolutely shot.

Diaz is a good win, and while Haney won comfortably, I never got the sense that he was dominating the fight. A special fighter dominates that level of opposition.

Your point about Ennis is certainly well taken, though I would argue that Spence's wins over Porter and Ugas, collectively, surpass Haney's ledger thus far.

Admittedly, a lot of this is subjective and the "eyeball" test certainly factors in. I will submit, however, that if your eyes didn't tell you GGG was a special talent, I don't know what to tell you.

Lord Devin Haney is very good, but not a great fighter yet.

Lower weight fighters who rely on power usually get beaten badly by the first fighter they fight in their prime who can box halfway decent.

He'd be maybe a borderline great fighter if he fought nip and tuck in a close one that should've gone the other way...versus a prime Lomachenko. This wasn't that, so - no. Very good but not great.

    No, he's not great, but he's 23 or 24. That's a long road.

The kid just went toe to toe with one of the most accomplished and avoided fighters in the lower weight divisions and had a 50/50 fight vs a great.. Haney already ahead of most guys in his age range so I say he keeps on this path he could definitely get there.. how many GREAT fighters are in boxing right now maybe a dozen or less ppl get called great before doing anything actually great nowadays

He's a good fighter. But not Lomachenko -special level. He's not P4P.

Loma showed him what greatness is.

Featherfisted jogger that doesn’t have the balls to fight in the trenches. Will mentally fall apart the next time someone puts it on him.

A draw would have been a fair score. I had it Loma 115-113, but after watching the fight twice I cannot understand how Haney won. Actually I do know how, foul play is suspected. The 116-112 was atrocious. There aren't 7 rounds there for Haney. Loma did lose the 12th, but by then the fight was already out of Haney's reach on the scorecards unless he scored a 10-8.

Rounds for Haney : 1 (arguable), 2, 4, 5, 6, 7-9 (arguable), 12. That's anywhere from 5-9 rounds for Haney. In close fights it's important to split close rounds, so that's how you end up with 7-5 Haney.

If you give 1 + 7-9 to Loma, you have Loma winning 7-5. If you give some of those to Haney, you end up with anywhere between 7-5 Loma to 9-3 Haney.

Great? That has yet to be determined, he's good though. Great is running through upper divisions, and he just got started. He has the frame for 147 but realistically what do you see him do there now.
