Mauricio Lara should be heavily fined and suspended for missing weight that drastically

    Unfortunately this probably plays more into his favor and he’s gonna end up brutally koing wood. 4 pounds overweight is not acceptable.

    The (BBBofC) prevented Lara from making weight. He could have very well made weight, but the board preventing him from doing so and I think that's BS. It's hometown shenanigans designed to favor the hometown fighter.

    They stripped him pre-fight. He probably could have made weight, but they specifically told Lara he can't come below 128.5. What kind of BS is that?

    You have to be a bit careful about this. No fighter goes "I am going take this fight then not bother making weight tee hee" - well, almost never :lol: Most guys who miss do so in good faith, the time does come when a guy just can't make the weight any more.

    I think when something like this happens fines, yes, in accordance with the contract, but more than that nobody should sanction him at the weight he missed. If you miss by 3, 4lbs, mandatory that fight next one up. No more 126lbs for him, by the rules.

    One or 2 pounds I can understand. 4 whole pounds? **** this guy, don’t take the fight if you’re going to miss it by 4 whole pounds.

    Because the (BBBofC) prevented him from making weight. He wasn't allowed to go below 128.5.

    Lara pretty much gave up on making weight after that. That's why he is over 129.

    If I was Wood I'd demand that Lara cut off his left hand to lose the weight. Then Wood could avoid another demolishing left hook.

    Can you elaborate? So Lara missed weight by 4 pounds and in most circumstances they would give him a couple hours to try and make weight right? Correct me if any of my facts are wrong. If these are the facts there's no way Lara is dropping 4 pounds within a couple hours, and should be suspended.

    Anyone feel free to correct me if I am wrong...

    But I believe he was told on Wed that he wasn't even allowed to TRY making weight over safety concerns.
