Wardley should handle Allen comfortably and he's got an 0 to protect and hunger so there'll be none of the nonsense that comes with a lot of Allen fights.

 

I don't mind Dave Allen. It's annoying though how he expects to walk into a big fight after being so inactive though. At this stage of his career I have to back Wardley. It's a big-heavyweight contest for the British Title and sets up Wardley Adeleye in the winter though so I can't complain. Much better to see than Wardley against Coffie on short notice or Adeleye against these Euro bums.

I'd be surprised if Cash Williams lands on the undercard but if it does it would be even better and make for a great show.

 

Wardley get nothing from beating Allen apart from maybe a little bit of exposure. Allen is shite and u have no doubt he is even worse now. He shouldn't be anywhere near boxing ring anymore never mind headlining a show but the world biggest promoters.

 

Allen is a big name to be fair and I don't really rate Wardley that highly. I'd rather see Wardley against Solomon Dacres which is the alternative option but I think the preference is Allen since he's more well-known and a lot less risky. Allen has been offered a number of big-fights like Huni and Makhmudov in Australia and Canada but he said he wasn't given enough notice so rejected them. That is concerning as he should be getting himself into shape already without a fight date and can't expect more than 8 weeks notice since he's no longer an A-side fighter.

 

After the Lenroy loss Hearn realised that the last chance for Allen was to basically fix it for him to look good and even that didn't go according to plan with Hearn ringside post fight berating Allen in front of him after Bracamonte left him bloodied. Either side of the demolition job that Price did on him we had the dive from Brown and the roly poly from Darch, a few absolute nobodies since and all of a sudden he's British title challenging material. I just wish he'd go away, he's got his houses to rent, he regularly humble brags about how financially secure he is, he doesn't need to be playing the humble hero anymore, he's a landlord ffs.

I really like Allen but there's a sense of entitlement that isn't good. Let's be honest Browne took a dive Vs him.

 

Sounds bad but he's always been a bit slurry. It's got worse though. Not good. And he's taken a lot of punishment hasn't he in fights and spars.

 

Perhaps. He's come down to our boxjng gym for free to help out before he was very decent. I do like that he doesn't care about dressing poncey he had random old clobber on.
