Agree that a win over Sownce and Charlo don't justify ATG status. I like Crawford, but he needs to fight top notch guys and dominate for a few years. Couple that with unifying in 4 divisions would get him the nod in my book.
Maybe if Spence and Charlo were very active fighters, but one guy's very inconsistent and the other guy's been out like 2 years.
I'll think more about this question later, but I'd like to say, Crawford has only been unified in one division so far.
Yeah, I'd give it to him. 135-154 is pretty much the most difficult 4 division range there is excluding SMW to HW, and becoming undisputed in three of those divisions would be a top tier feat for the 21st century. If he wants to really keep himself in the minds of the people, though, he has to do something which people don't expect. It's unfair but the truth.
Instead of getting caught up in BoxRec, trinket belts and multi division nonsense why don't you Delve into who they actually fought... because between them they have very thin resumes.... so to consider either an all-time great is laughable right now.. & lets be honest both of them are more than capable of fighting at f****** middleweight ... that's how much these Americans grift the **** out of the p4p/multi division nonsense.. & its worked.. ppl calling Crawford an ATG cos he beat Postol & Porter & is a '3 weight champion yall'
It all comes down to who Crawford has beaten and when I think of the names on the ATGs records, he just pales in comparison. I would rather he had some losses but fought the best every time out. These meaningless belts are just that - meaningless.
Who could he have fought from 135 - 147 who is an improvement on who he did fight? He's literally fought the top 2/3 guys in ever division.
Nobody calls a Ring champion unified. Nobody called Kyoguchi unified, for example. Unified has to be between two sanctioning bodies.
