This content is protected I keep hearing people say that Usyk and Lomachenko got the best defense in boxing and how they are these defensive wizards that can’t be touched yet they end up looking like this after every fight. They stand no chance against the greats. The greats would have destroyed them.
To be fair, loma got caught with a lot of elbows and as for usyk, he's facing giants in there that hit harder than heart break ridge
Yes loma is overrated but in usyks case its BS. In Cw and Hw they are all bruised up after fights, a single jab can easily cause a cut or big swelling. Look at WK vs Wach, the pole barely landed anything, yet wlad looked very bad even with his defence first style.
Honestly the Haney fight there was lots of elbows by way of catching it by camera in photos of the fight.
Some fighters just mark up and bruise easier than others. But win every fight. Some fighters hit the deck and lose with no bruising. Some fighters get hit and quit with no bruising. Some fighters lose a UD with no bruising. Bruised or not, the best man wins.

It baffles me that there are grown men like the OP and the usual suspects on ESB that actually watch boxing but don't like the fighters who are everything great about the sport. They prefer the A side diva's who stack the deck in their favor who get away with robberies and dirty tactics.
I dont think anybody claims Usyk is a Mayweather-esque defensive master. His talent is he'll land 10 for every 1 he takes.
The whole draw of both of them is they blend a boxing skill and speed with pressure. We're so used to thinking of fast, skillful fighters as being defensively oriented but neither of them are. And some of them wear a lot of concealer and sunglasses every time they get interviewed. You know the old saying, "maybe he's nice like that, maybe it's Maybelline"
