Tyson Fury doesn't care about legacy, but he would be champion in any era...

Not sure what Fury is getting at these days but I will always enjoy the highlights of him putting Wilder in the dirt x 2

Well I disagree it would give his resume alot more filler which hes seriously lacking atm. I agree the Usyk win is the stand out win he needs, but 1 or 2 solid filler wins along with it would do nicely aswell.

I dunno. His competition has been limited for the most part, aside from Wlad and Windmill.

I think he needs to beat Derrick Chisora a couple of more times before we go this far.

He might be good enough to be a champion in any era but he wouldn't keep his belt long enough to be champion for long in some of the era's. He's too volatile and unstable and would either get stripped or be forced to fight when he's not prepared too. He's lucky in this era he has the WBC that will bend over backwards to accommodate their champions and he's in an era when there's just so much damn money in boxing that he can fight anyone and make millions and so not have to fight tough fight after tough fight to make enough.

Reality is Fury has been spoilt, he's made more than enough money to never have to fight again and he's already a 2 time champion, his hunger simply isn't there anymore. Mentally he seems to have checked out of the sport and is basically just going through the motions but at the same time with such a huge fight still left on the table he can't walk away just yet and for his mental health really needs to be active to keep himself sane so he's still here going through the motions.

Aside from Fury, no fighter in any weight class in history has beaten two 10+ consecutive defence champions. Both had home and A-side advantage, both were 6'5+, great athletes, Olympic medallists and possibly the two hardest punching heavyweight champions ever. Both were also favoured to beat Fury in 3/4 of the contests. Yet Fury hasn't lost, whereas other recent greats have been KO'd by journeymen or fringe contenders on multiple occasions.

Wlad landed fewer punches on Fury than Wach or Greco-Roman Povetkin landed on Wlad. Statistically (fewest number of punches landed by the opponent) Fury-Wlad was the best defensive boxing performance vs a champion in history, against the P4P No.2 and one of the top heavyweight pointfighters ever. Fury's performance in the Wilder rematch was incredibly dominant and also incredibly unexpected, especially given the fact that he was almost KO'd in fight 1 and cut in an unforeseen tough fight against Wallin. Compare it to Lewis in the Holyfield rematch, which was a pathetic performance in comparison to Wilder 2: Lewis was much taller and longer, had a huge advantage in one-punch power, had Holyfield's ex-trainer in his corner and had been robbed in the first fight with Holyfield never really troubling him, yet again opted to cautiously pointfight over 12 (leaving his fate in the hands of American judges for a 2nd time) against a 3 defeat, near-Ruiz Holyfield and had a much closer fight.

If Fury beats Usyk (the best cruiserweight and southpaw heavyweight ever) and retires then he'll down as the best heavyweight of all time. It's a big if though as Fury is mentally erratic, has often been undisciplined and Usyk is a great fighter in his own right, with a unique style and attributes.

His resume outside of Wlad sucks balls. Wilder wins are good too. Would he be champion in any era? Possibly and very likely. But would he be "The" champion in the peak of the 70's, mid 80's, or early to mid 90's? I say no.

70's had a lot of well schooled and conditioned fighters that could go 15 rounds and move, we've seen smaller cruiser weights & southpaws give him issues. He's not beating Ali, prime Foreman likely ko's him if crude Wilder can kd him multiple times. Prime Holmes would be tough too.

80's Mike Tyson era he'd have success but I don't see him beating prime Tyson.

90's division had killers in it - Holyfield, Lewis, Bowe, Mercer, McCall, older Tyson still had pop, prime lefty Moorer gives him trouble. Even some of the lesser tier fighters later in the decade would be great fights like Bruno, Ibeabuchi, Tua, Briggs, crazy prime Golota, maybe even some Euro compatriots like Schulz, Maskaev. If Fury fights no one now, no way in the **** is he fighting most of these monsters. Once he got to the top he mentally disintegrated for the most part.

2000's - V. Klit, Corrie Sanders, Lewis - I don't see him beating all of them.

Fury is perfect for this era though and he has not even fought all the fighters that matter or cleaned everyone out yet, while getting older and flabbier.

Take on some decent opposition, top 3 as warm ups according to all his fan boys he can beat anyone, then pull off undisputed. He isn't close to ATG in any era. He doesn't want to lose that one belt he is just clinging on to. If he wants a sniff of ATG status then pull off undisputed and defend it at least once. Then maybe, just maybe he may regain some respect from the sport.

Massive, fast, skills, endurance, elusive, belief, tough, heart and determination, enough power to be dangerous.

Yeah, people let their hate get in the way. He beats all the old Murican myths.

Prime Wlad would be hard or any huge puncher who can snipe him with a bomb, but otherwise what is a path to victory as a smaller and or slower fighter who can't outskill him.

Should have a loss on his record to John McDermott. Had way more trouble than he should have against a total unknown in Wallin. Dropped hard by Cunningham. Dropped multiple times by Michael Grant 2.0. Hes hardly some unstoppable monster. This is just a weak HW era and Fury hasnt even faced most of the decent fighters in it.

The way Unbeaten Prime ATG GOAT WBC and Lineal champion fury somehow managed to beat double digit loss, shot to bits old plodder Chisora for the third time was amazing.

Problem is that after he would beat them they would also be in in your list of nobodies, old men and midgets
