Tua stopped Moorer in 1 round and Tua was the equivalent of Galento. So would he stop Moorer just as quickly? Or would Moorer be able to foil Galento?

I don’t think Galento beats Moorer. I can see him being a stubborn and problematic opponent for Michael however. A comparison was made by the thread starter between Tony Galento and David Tua. While they may have had some similarities I don’t see them as being all that comparable. And Moorer fought him while being past his prime and on the comeback trail making that comparison somewhat irrelevant.

I think Tua was all wrong for any version of Moorer

So do I, but at the same time we shouldn't underestimate Moorer.

He was a lineal heavyweight champion, and although he had a questionable chin, he is not a man who lost every time he met a big puncher.

Perhaps he has at least earned the status of favourite here?

Big difference between Tua and Galento. Moorer slaughters Galento and makes him wish he never left his bar stool.

Moorer can’t do him any worse than Louis did

Regardless, I don’t see the kinds of similarities between Galento and Tua to make Two-Ton a favorite. Tua had an iron chin, fast hands, more power, and while he wasn’t a glutton for training, he also wasn’t a glutton for eating himself into a coma the way that Galento was

Louis beat the **** out of him and so would Moorer. Of course Louis is better than Moorer historically.

Being a reasonable man, he probably wouldn't want to!

Galento might argue that the difference between them, was that he actually won some of the most important fights of his career.

Galento could argue that all he wants but bottom line is that Tua knocked out four heavyweight champions which is something that Galento could never claim.

If you can't watch film of Galento and Tua and tell who was superior than I don't know what else there is to discuss.

With all due respect why do I need to be schooled ? I know Galento has some qualities and I’ve expressed them before on other threads. I just don’t think he’s as good of a fighter as David Tua
