I know the guy took bombs by some of the hardest hitters ever without going down. Its enough to say Lennox had a A- level chin. Besides the defeats with McCall and Rahman were all avenged. Lucky punches imo.

Indeed - and, burned in. :roto2gay: No amount of therapy, specializing in psychological tattoo removal, could reverse it.

To suggest guys like Mercer,Briggs and yes Vitali Klitschko ,all 250 lbs of him,are not heavy-handed
is absurd. If Lennox Lewis had an unreliable chin he would not have been able to brawl with these men in
    such an aggressive manner.
Ray Mercer NOT heavy-handed ? Get outta here !

Who did Mercer KO besides Tommy Chin ? How many KO losses does Tommy Chin have ? How many times did Tommy Chin hit the deck ? Tommy Chin got laid out by run of the mill Palooka Michael Bentt in ONE round.

Mercer has zero ZERO 000 stoppage wins vs upper tier opponents.

Depends on your definition of "upper tier". One of the best 10 fighters in the world seems a reasonable guide to me. Mercer stopped Daimani when he was ranked #7 by the Ring.

Hmmm.....right.You do realise that a fighter doesn't have to have list of ko victims
from the ring's top 10 to be a very hard puncher ? You do know that don't you ...?
Because quite frankly, your denial of Mercer's punching power is just plain daft.

Mercer is was and always will be a trial horse on the Pro level, this is the same guy who was schooled by Grandpa Holmes.

One more time, Mercer is and never was a lights out puncher. The end.

Pray tell me what has Mercer being schooled by the immortal Larry Holmes got to
do with Mercer's punching power.Mercer's status ,at least according to you,as a
'' trial horse '' also has no bearing on his punching power.
This discussion has now taken on the tedious aspect of trying to convince a denier
    the sea is wet.
    Yes,please,no more.The end.

Two knockout defeats in 44 fights would hardly suggest a glass chin, Lewis fought plenty of punchers, many of whom did not trouble him, i would say he was susceptible to a bomb but for the most part, his chin was pretty reliable.

I do think the problem was less that he had a lacking chin and more that he'd just leave it out there. I remember watching him fight Ocasio while green and Ossie was able to hit him hard with a right overhand- It's not like he was gonna get stopped, but it's clear that his chin was always exploitable and ready for the taking if he wasn't in peak shape. Fine chin as long he could see a punch coming.
