Lopez is like the Park Ji Sung of boxing. Doesn’t bother against mid table, just rolls out big performances for the top boys.

    Josh is done.
A shooting star that burnt out.

all his confidence was drained from the 4th round onwards. looked slow, passive and ragged.

Big Taylor fan but was well well well and fairly beaten tonight.
It wasn't as close as 115-113, 117-111 was a lot more like it.
Made no dent at all in Lopez.
Started well, first couple of rounds but ultimately 2nd best in everything.
    What now for Taylor?
Still quite young to hang them up but I'm not sure if stepping up is the answer.
I think he'll move up and have a home fight and see if he can regain the old magic.

    Trying to stay relevant.

Nothing worse than a boxer trying to live off another man’s defeat.

Also a huge Taylor fan and scored it 8-4 Lopez.

He’s young in age and fights but had a long amateur career and countless injuries and long lay offs.

Very good point about his "ring" age.
Do you think he'll carry on?
I don't think he'll have made the financial reward his success deserves.
I think one sold out Hydro show @ 147 at least.

Two of the judges had 95-95 after 10 rounds and both had Taylor sweeping the first 3 rounds.

Surprised how Taylor faded down the stretch considering that he has always pulled it out in the championship rounds in the past.

Hard to see how Taylor comes back from this considering the only leverage he really had was the belts, and he gave three of them up.

The right man won tonight, but Joe McNally called it correct after the 10th when he said if Josh wins the last two he goes home with the belts, the ESPN commentary as expected was horrendously biased in favour Teo and they had him almost pitching a shut-out.

Still not convinced by Lopez though, but he surprised a lot of people tonight, me included.

I guess it will be Lopez v Haney next.

There was a point in the second round where Teo caught Taylor flush on the counter and Taylor’s legs seemed to buckle. It may have also been due to a slip but I think it was a bit of both. I think Taylor felt Teo’s power in round 2 early on and that’s what made him doubt himself a lose a bit of confidence.

Taylor was only really throwing single shots. Was working the body really well early on but his output gradually decreased as the fight went on and once it became apparent that Teo matched his physicality and that Josh had no strength or size advantages the writing was on the wall.

It was an absolutely amazing performance from Teo though: a perfect blend of aggression, slick boxing and showmanship. That last round was like the cherry on the cake and had he turned the screw a little earlier he’d have stopped Taylor.

So so impressed by Teofimo Lopez tonight.

The commentary was an absolute disgrace, totally ignoring any positive work Teo did until it became evidently one sided.

What leaves you unconvinced by Teo?

Losing to Kambosos and a close fight against Sandor Martin.

Fair enough, don’t think there’s any shame in losing to Kambosos though and I wouldn’t read too much into the Martin fight because Teo may well just be one of those fighters who can only get up for the big dangerous fights as someone alluded to on the last page.

I think if you were to put Catterall in with Teo, it would finish with Catterall splattered quite early. I’d like to see Teo against Prograis and then see where he can go from there. I thought he’d struggle at this weight especially against someone as big and strong as Josh but clearly not.

The Kambosos and Martin fights, plus I think tonight was more a case of how bad Taylor was than how good Teo is, he really faded badly down the stretch and in the championship rounds.

Personally, I think the Taylor who beat Prograis and Ramirez would have beaten Teo tonight, especially if you take the scorecards at face-value.

Lopez v Haney will be a great fight though and will show exactly what level Teo is at.

Unfortunately for Taylor without a rematch clause, he really is in no-mans land now.

Wasn't really surprised Taylor got beat but surprised how ordinary and wooden he looked! I agree think he got shook to his boots early and hid it well but wasn't the same after. Another british fighter who looks good/great then hits a wall and next thing you know he's retired kinda thing.
