Your opinion is wrong, in my opinion.

My card was 114-113, the same as the judges'.

Fair scores, fair decision in a close fight decided by a KD. Nothing else.

I would say more. In round 8 there was a KD that was not counted when derevyanchenko touched the canvas with his knee while exchanging punches.

He wasnt hurt, it was due to bad balance. But when bad balance is caused because of punches, the KDs are legit. Referees rarely take the decision to make those KD count, but I think they should do it always, because rules say that they are legit. (and referees count them sometimes, kind of subjective BS).

I wont say that this should be a KD, because since the way referees manage the fights it is not a must. But were I the referee, I would have considered this KD as legit for being due to an offbalance while exchanging punches that connected (even if the latest one didnt, the first 2 did).

Without counting this KD, I had 114-113 for munguía anyway, as I said.

Yeah, he deserves respect and deserves the win. Let Derev get the win and give Munguia the respect but no win.

Actually, that probably was a 10-8 round, that's probably the most severe beating I've seen without a KD, at least if I remember correctly.

Had this been a prime Derevyanchenko, he would have handled Munguia clearly. Instead, you had a faded version who didn't have his old sharpness, so he was nicked by a younger, bigger guy. Golden Boy just barely got the call right here, even though Derevyanchenko could have gotten the nod without any fuss. You could see De La Hoya sweating bullets ringside, though. He should know now that he has to find someone to cash Munguia out against. He's barely getting by fringe contenders.

Exactomundo For some reason Derev never gets a break. He must be the unluckiest fighter in modern history
He deserved to win that fight

I think people are crying robbery because the rnds Derevyanchenko won he won them pretty dominant. The rnds Munguia won he did not win in dominate fashion but he won those rnds except for the last rnd where he got the knock down. I had it 6 - 6 with the knockdown winning the fight. It was a back and forth fight. Honestly either guy could have gotten the nod. This was not a robbery and had it not been for rnd 12 , in my opinion, Derevyanchenko would have gotten hand raised but that knock down was huge.

Couldn't agree more. I wasn't able to watch this fight live, but I watched it today, and scored it the same as you, even in rounds, but the KD deciding it in the twelfth for a 114-113 tally for Munguia.

Modern boxing fans are far too quick to scream "robbery," and get all worked up over it. I think it makes them feel important, like they "know" more than experienced officials. In most instances, they seem more like unhinged cranks, frankly - particularly when they rail about close fights like this.

In sum, the judges who scored it 114-113 were right on the money in my view. And, as usual, no robbery, just a close fight with debatable rounds.

Delahoya was practically crying when he heard the scores, knowing it was going to be Derev's Victory, but was shocked and relieved when he heard it was Munguia.

Heard and read plenty of times that judges are discouraged from giving 10-10 rounds.

    Cracking fight!

As usual the fans throw the word 'robbery' around too flippantly.

But I'm also realist, when it's a close fight like that I would be surprised to see the deck fall Derevyanchenkos way. Boxing politics....

A judge should know who is winning a round at all times. So it is genuinely hard to call many rounds 10-10.
