and now benevidez is the mandatory after beating a common opponent and one of the hottest names in the sport and the ginger graud still wont fight him.

Hell go with 40 year old jack or berlanga instead.

Anyone still supporting this idiot needs to quit being a fan of the sport. Hes the biggest fraud in boxing.

Him, his trainer and team, and his promoters know benevidez is stylistically a huge problem for the ginger midget and a loss to him would furthur damage his remaining stock.

Clenelo will continue these awful fights on his huge dazn contract.

    Hes is a fraud!!

Think even though Canelos slowed down he would be favored against Benavidez judging from his last fight with Plant.

Means nothing benevidez beats the breaks off clenelo.

He is tailor made for benevidez.

Some flat footed 5'8 midget who gasses out and throws 1 punch counter shots lol.

Clenelo and his team sre banking on benevidez not being able to make 168lb and moving up. They know he wont come back down. Theyre teying to wait him out.

Clenelo os a huge stylistical disadvantage here vs benvidez thats the only reason this fight isnt getting made.

Davids a talented fighter no doubt, but what name on his resume makes you think that he’s a stylistic problem for Cinnabuns?

The more Canelo waits on Benevidez the better he gets, and closer he gets on the betting lines. Canelo needs to fight him in September.

But also the bigger he gets and harder it is for him to make 168.

That's true, but for a shot at Undisputed I'm sure he'd do everything necessary to make weight. Benevidez is only going to get better while Canelo older.

That's true, but I think Canelo can maintain his form for several years. Yes he has a lot of miles on his career, but he keeps himself in great shape. He's better this year than he was last year, for example, as he was dealing with the hand injury and he got that repaired. The performance against Ryder was a master class. I'm not sure if it's a good idea to move way up to fight Jack, but he was already targeting Makabu for a shot at a Cruiserweight belt. Jack KO'd Makabu so now he would need to fight Jack.

The problem with doing this is that I'd be worried about how much weight he would put on then have to drop the weight to return all the way down to 168. At least with 175 it's not as much weight, and if he fought at 175 again he'd probably make some changes. But going up to Cruiserweight could take a large toll on his body. When you talk about Canelo getting older and it being harder to beat Benaviez the longer he waits to fight him, moving up to Cruiser than back down to 168 only increases the stress on the body and the potential slowdown of performance. I think if he stays at 168 he can maintain his form for several years, but a move up to Cruiser than back down to 168 could very well make it easier for Benavidez to beat him.

Yeah I agree with everything. Thats why the risk far outweighs the reward in this case, that should be something he tries to do when he wants to call it a day. But I think Canelo and his team feel the same way which is why they're offering a CW fight.
