    I do not know if this thread exist but I got to mention this again!
    This is a heart touching moment in this movie!
    I was small kid 4 or 5 years old and watching this black and white movie on AMC in early 2000s and it was my first boxing movie I ever watched!Second was Somebody Up There Likes Me and Harder they fall!
    If you are not bored please rewatch this beautiful scene again!

    This is more or less what happened.

    Both the former champion and his conqueror were gracious in the aftermath of the fight.

    Great film.

    In terms of historical accuracy it's slightly worse than Braveheart

    Errol Flynn played an excellent Jim Corbett and Ward Bond played an excellent John L. Sullivan as well in this 1942 classic, Gentleman Jim. I always love to see this movie.
