Boxrec's ratings do tend to be,shall we say,a bit eccentric ! As for Big George,I love him as a fighter but his views do tend to be somewhat odd.
I'm not really good at putting lists in order but I think Ali, Louis, as number 1 and 2 is a no brainer. I personally have Ali as 1 because of his much stronger opposition, although Louis has the consistency on his side. But I much prefer quality over quantity in this case. Overall I would have Tyson, Lewis, Holmes, Foreman, Wladimir, Marciano, in my top 10 easily. But where I rank them I really don't know.
Curious about the Steward list as well .. surprised he listed Johnson as he didn't seem to be a huge fan on interviews I read/saw ..
I wouldn’t personally put Johnson in any top ten but I can sort of see why many do. The man fought forever and beat a ton of top fighters throughout his whole career, before winning the title, during his reign and even after.
Yes. Ali's resume is just too good for any other HW to surpass. Didn't just beat all of the other ATG's in his era, but he beat all the other "just" great HW's too. He wasn't even in his prime in the 70's either which is where he took his resume to another level.
I like 9/10 of Manny’s list as far as the names although I’d order them differently. Only charge for me would be Frazier over Tunney although I think more highly of Tunney than a lot of folks here do, he’d be in my Top 15 with Holyfield, Dempsey and the Klitschkos.
Since Manny's list is the closest on there to MY list, I'd say you're not only right...You know your heavyweights !
