    Hello everyone.
I found this video in Daily motion pertaining to Joe Louis, and in the end there's Billy Conns talking about Louis and at around the 43:30 mark, answering a hypothetical match up question. Interestingly, he says Louis caught up to him like he eventually caught up to everyone. He doesn't repeat the same old "Conns got brave and tried to slug it out" myth. The audio is off synch by the way:

Meanwhile John says that Conn wanted to slug it out with Louis and try and knock him out. Not to mention he said that if Conn was never out of 5 years because of WW2, he would have beat Louis twice which is a stupid argument. Louis was also out for WW2 and was never the same after the period of 1946.

Fighters you find tend to pick the men of their own era in such fantasy match ups.

There is an 80’s episode of Boxing’s Best in which a profesionally enthusiastic Barry Tompkins tries to gain the interest of a crabby, elderly Billy Conn. Conn predicts a knockout of Ali there. Maybe that’s it.
