Bivol and his team made a huge mistake making major financial demands and weight requests to Canelo. Now Canelo has signed a three fight deal with PBC and I presume he will never get the opportunity to fight him again. Bivol only has a big money fight against Beterbiev and that is a risky fight that I am not sure he can win and still only a fraction of what he would make against Canelo. If he loses I doubt Canelo faces him again and if Canelo loses to any of the PBC guys the fight is all so off the table. Huge colossal mistake.
He already have good money from that Canelo fight. His father was a cab driver and his family of 8 lived in 2 room apartment. I think he can do whatever he wants.

As long as "big money" is a greater motivation than the undisputed champion, boxing will be in trouble and the fans will be dissatisfied. The best example is the "big three"; Fury, AJ, Wilder. Even if because of the 3 fights we found out that Fury is ahead of Wilder, we didn't CLEARLY find out who was second (we didn't watch the Fury vs. AJ fight) and who was third (we didn't watch the AJ vs. Wilder fight). Let the boxing fan who thinks the fights Fury Vs. AJ and AJ Vs. Wilder redundant (were redundant).
Bivol already schooled Canelo who isn't even competing at Light Heavyweight. We don't need to keep seeing catchweight fights or two fighters fighting in two different weightclasses. The only fight I care about at Light Heavyweight is Bivol/Beterbiev and that's the fight that should happen.

Yup He over played his hand and thought he had leverage when he didn't. Canelo can fight a taco seller and fill out a Mexican arena and get paid $20m. People have to realise that.
