No way could Foreman stop Hide in two rounds.

Foreman stopped the reigning lineal heavyweight champion. What was Herbie Hide?

Noway Holmes could stop Trevor Berbick in 2 rounds. Does that put Bernardo Mercado and Tyson ahead of him? You can dd Carl Williams to the Holmes/Tyson scenario.

Hide was on the floor about 100 times vs Riddick Bowe and seemed to panic against the bigger man, Hide was also a glass cannon and a blown up Cruiserweight. An early 90s Foreman would definitely be able to get Hide out of there early.

All of this is irrelevant though whether or not Foreman could stop Hide as early as Vitali doesn't really matter. The fact is a win over Moorer is by far superior than a win over a Hide.

I doubt it. Hide vs Foreman would have been as one-sided as the Morrison or Axel Shulz fights for at least a few rounds, George getting through in the 2nd half of the fight seemed likely (through a combo of Herbie gassing and that weak beard) but he's way too slow to get Hide out there that early.

It is irrelevant though, I agree there.

There were a number of fighters who were capable of stopping Foreman in his second career, he just didn't fight them.

I’ll politely refer you to Stewart against Tyson and Foreman, Grimsley against Thunder and Foreman, and Savarese against Tyson and Foreman.

Probably Briggs. Fight was close and quite a few people had Foreman winning. I still think Briggs is severely underrated on these forums.

Hypothetically speaking, maybe. The fact remains he was not stopped in his “second career”.

Bowe`s hands were far quicker than Foreman`s, however Hide out-boxed Bowe in the first two rounds v Bowe while Vitali blew him away with no problems at all.

    Classic in Foreman Revisionsm mode......

If you had lived thru Foreman's comeback he was seen as a circus act, including his KO over the ghost of Cooney.......he fought nothing but set ups and fillers. He got some credit for his gallant effort to play a Heavybag vs light punching Holyfield who made the fight way more competitive due to his stupidity to brawl.....

The most powerful Heavy that has ever lived, according to Forum gospel could not stop genuine Glass cannons named Stewart/Morrison/Saverese/Schulz/Grimsley/Briggs...............the vast majority of those stone killers were waxed by other fighters not in minutes but seconds.......

From a historical standpoint Foreman's winning a belt is remarkable but in realty he did not earn the shot thru his ranking but for $$$ value, again was used like a Heavybag until he landed the lucky shot literally in the eleventh hour against another glass chinned feeble minded Ex Light Heavy..................and got stripped from all belts afterwards because he refused to fight anybody with a pulse or re match a Gift win vs a Palooka..

That's Foreman second career, all smoke and mirrors.

In his first Career he was a force to be reconned with some serious flaws but extremely dangerous right out of the gate.
