This fight would be a clash. Who wins this! Mugabi gave Hagler hell while LaMotta gave Robinson both his first loss and his first knockdown.

Out of interest who was the physically bigger man? I suspected LaMotta was a bit bigger and could potentially rough John up. After all Duane Thomas managed to break Mugabi with that hook/thumb and Jake would be all over him, fair or foul.

Mugabi has one amazing night of courage against Hagler but for me lacks the durability to win this unless he gets in a lucky punch. Jake was pretty durable, he was never KO'd I think? Just stopped by SSR still standing and the suspect KO "loss" to Billy Fox so think Jake can take whatever John throws at him and then break his heart.

Jake wasn't a big puncher so I think he'll win a UD. But he could end it late say, 14th round?

John Mugabi had a rough time against James Green's pressure who was a short stocky fighter.

Lamotta would be too much for him a late stoppage.

This would be a bruising fight between one of the greatest
punchers at that weight, against one of
    the greatest chins....
Lamotta didn't have the firepower and total skills of Hagler
or even James Green for that matter, but he
probably was mentally tougher than the
    both of them.
Mugabi wouldn't be able to discourage Lamotta and
keep him at his preferred range ,mid-distance.
Lamotta would close the distance, out work
    Mugabi, win a close dec.
