No one could forsee canelo offering a fight to jermell. You're bashing Charlo when Tim would do the same thing. He ain't scared of Tim the man cleaned out the division and took on everyone. Btw it's a great comparison because it's the same thing here.

 

It must have been planned for a while as Charlo kept coy in regards to Tszyu he never committed he never wanted it. He knew his pussie brother was in no shape to fight. This was the plan all along they were pretending it was Mall taking it but it was gonna be Mell the whole time. They hood winked every one.

 

Thats a possibility that we can't rule out to be fair. I happen to think canelo wanted to fight mall because he knew he would get bashed for taking on a guy who has never fought at 160 or 168. Mall tried to get back for the fight but couldn't do it at the end of the day. With that said canelo should've turned it down to fight anyone else in the pbc stable at 160 or 168.

I barely liked the mall fight and like the Mell fight even less

I do find the "Mell ducked tim" claims to be pretty idiotic.

I was willing to give canelo a pass on not fighting Benavidez first if he would face him in fight 2 of the deal. However, dragging up jermell 2 weights feels like the wrong fight. Have guys jumped up in weight and stunned bigger Champs, yes, is it likely,no

Jermall gets the chance he was begging for forever...then ducks. HAHA Hasn't fought in 2 years and now his brother is gonna take another L and get KTFO to boot.

Yeah it is the likely scenario I am not happy about being right as I really wanted to see Tszyu fight Charlo but we now know Charlo never wanted it. Surely the WBO will elevate Tszyu to world champion now.

 

I would have rather Seen Canelo fight Andrade a DAZN fighter, which is a HORRIBLE fight, but at least it would have made sense. Yeah I know it's PBC right?

 

So Canelo will defend his undisputed world super middleweight titles at the full 168 pound limit against Jermell Charlo, who has fought exclusively at light middleweight or lower for his entire career. This is basically Canelo vs Khan all over again, just with some extra gloss on it.

 

Charlo will never fight at 154 again after fighting at 168. They will have to fight at 160. I think he would've fought Tim if this offer hadn't been made because it was the second best option for him behind this.

 

Honestly it's the better fight at this point. Jermell actually goes for it. He swings for the fences and takes chances to win. It will be entertaining, more entertaining than most recent Canelo fights I expect.

It seems ridiculous that he is jumping two weight classes to do it, but he's easily got the size to do it, he probably should have been at MW or SMW the past 3-4 years.
