I hope Canelo destroys him in 1 round and it flops. Canelo could have demanded a better opponent but this is the work of Al Haymon. Haymon and PBC are desperate to stop the financial hemorrhaging and can't risk Canelo taking an L on the first fight.

Especially considering Charlo has never fought above 154, I don't think he should bulk up to fight Canelo. He almost certainly would not carry all that extra weight well. He doesn't even know how he'd compete at 160. He should not put on anything that he couldn't easily lose to get back down to 154 again.

As a Canelo supporter I'm really disappointed he took this route, when there was plenty of fighters in his division that are calling his name. This is a gimmick match, nothing more nothing less and it's fights like this that's giving boxing a black eye. It's prizefighting, but these pointless fights need to stop being made.

Well it's a shame he's doing it right after the Ryder fight. He should have fought Benavidez then Jermell if he wanted to take a step back.

I agree, Benevidez should have been first.

Canelo by KO makes the most sense here. I suspect this is a cash out for Jermell.

Jermello opted for a cash out against the cash cow Clenelo as opposed to taking a career ending beating from Eurasian King Tszyu and losing all his belts at 154 to him in one fell swoop.

Tszyu moseyed on into Charlo Town on his Eurasian mule, ran up on Sheriff Jermello and gave him a death stare, ripped Sheriff Jermello's sheriff badge from his lapel before placing it on his own one and announcing himself as the new sheriff to the townsfolk. Sheriff Tszyu ran Jermello out of his own town and he ain't welcome round those parts no more.

I think it is very brave to take on the Charlo which is moving up 2 weight classes. After all, a Lomachenko-Canelo fight would be HUGE. Maybe Saul will have Loma next time.

Man, what the **** is going on, straight from left field, curve ball. Who asked for this ****, massive fail all around.
First Canelo should've fought the only fight that makes the most sense and everyone wants, Benavidez. Then they BS us with the older inactive Charlo, then they switch it up to the other injured Charlo who all of a sudden is ready for the monster at 168 with no tune up, but no Tszyu.
Yea, the older Charlo showed straight ***** moves to let them fight youm younger bro. **** mental illness, you are supposed to protect your family, as you are closer in weight to Canelo than Jermell.

Yea now I see the hate on the Charlos. Self sabotage.

LOL This is the Charlo that I've wanted him to fight. This is the more respected and more accomplished Charlo. This is Undisputed vs Undisputed.

What's funny is that for weeks we've been hearing about how Canelo shouldn't fight Jermall because he's been inactive for 2 years. Well then if you've been saying that about MALL, then MELL makes more sense. I've been saying for years that Mell is a more dangerous opponent for Canelo than Mall, he's more explosive, he's fought the tougher opposition, he's had more quality wins, etc.

To refresh your memory, I posted this topic two weeks ago :

    https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/what-if-canelo-fought-both-charlos.705239/

Read what I said about Jermell. (and there was a typo in the first post - I said in error that Jermell was LHW Undisputed, I obviously meant LMW lol)

But the point stands. This is a better fight, this is the fight that I've always wanted. If you go back to last year, I made other topics that made it pretty clear that I wanted to see Jermell fight Canelo instead of Jermall, that Jermell is a more dangerous fighter for Canelo than Jermall, that he's more explosive, more motivated to fight Canelo, etc.

So there's no mental gymnastics here bud. I've been calling for Jermell vs Canelo for a long long time and it's finally happening so I'm thrilled. And for people calling this pathetic, it's funny because for weeks they've been calling it pathetic for Canelo to fight Jermall because of inactivity. So now it's pathetic for Canelo to fight either Charlo? Please, this is the biggest fight that can be made right now. if Jermall isn't ready, due to inactivity, then Jermell makes more sense.

This will be a great fight guaranteed. For people saying Jermell is smaller than Jermall so it's more of a weight disparity, bro they're twins lol. Jermell is able to make the lower weight because he's in better shape than Jermall. Jermall does not train as hard as Jermell, Jermell is an absolute beast at 154, we seen what he did to Harrison and Castaño. It makes sense to fight this fight now because he's Undisputed at 154, but the thing is he's probably outgrowing 154 and could move up to Middleweight in his next fight anyway. Might as well have the fight now while he's still Undisputed at 154 so they can sell it as Undisputed vs Undisputed. This is epic, and I can't wait.

And for ya'll sleeping on Jermell's chances, don't. He is very capable of winning this fight. And he's probably the most explosive and dangerous puncher out there who has the best chance to actually hurt Canelo with a big shot. Now get back to your crying about Canelo fighting Mell, about how he's picking on the smaller Charlo, and all this stuff. If he fought Jermall you'd be crying about his inactivity and that Canelo i picking on a guy who's been inactive for two years. Canelo's fighting the less inactive Charlo who had a big KO win last year who's been calling for Undisputed vs Undisputed. This is a massive fight and I'm thrilled that he's fighting Jermell and not Jermall. This is the guy who deserves the shot.
