Jared Anderson vs Zhan Kossobutskiy set for August 26th

Good Jared is quickly back in action. The bad is Zhan can really take his 0.

Also it sounds like he has one foot out the door the way he talks of retiring in a few years which is NEVER a good sign.

 

Although his showing last night doesn't give confidence, I do applaud him for stepping on the gas career-wise. Two months turnaround time inbetween bouts is damn impressive. Imagine how much more exciting this division would be if everyone else had urgency like that.

 

Agreed, better than a lot of guys who just wither away on the shelf fighting once every 12-18 months

 

This is ill advised as this quick turnaround makes it very unlikely he can address all his weak points in time for the fight.

 

I think Anderson did well....only lost one round and gained lots of experience,,,also he proved that he can take some big shots !

 

True but not all southpaws fight alike. Martin is quite a tall rangy guy who lunges in with his straight left and takes risks, while Zhan is a lot stockier and more conservative, and tends to like to throw when in quite close to an opponent. If VP can keep his jab pumping in Zhan's face he could keep him shelled up and unable or unwilling to let his hands go.

It's a fight which I can actually see Anderson looking a lot better in, despite Zhan being on paper the better opponent than Martin.

 

Medium-build Kazakh southpaw. Decent skills but a bit passive and lacks urgency in his fights. Looks like Chow Yun Fat.

 

That's great. One thing I can't knock Anderson for is activity and trying. Even after getting seriously buzzed midway in the Martin fight, he still pressed and threw punches.

He may have an easier time with Koss as he doesn't have the experience of god. I will say it again, this is a great match-up of fighters with equal pro experience.

 

Hats off to Anderson if this is true. That was a rough 10 round right and Zhan could very well snatch his 0. Best HW fight of the year if it actually comes off.

 

Joyce vs Zhang has to be HW fight of the year.

 

I'm glad Anderson is back in action so soon. Hard not to like him.

 

That was HW heavybag treatment of the year. We'll see how the rematch goes down. I'm more excited for this if it comes off.
