Depends. If Tua catches him he’ll take him. I just think though Joyce is too big and a whiff of Tua’s power he’s on his toes for a decision win. No way Tua is stopped though.

I don' think Joyce has the foot speed to outbox Tua for 12 so it turn into a war of attrition.
Think Tua might take it. Although Joes work rate would make it difficult.

Tua would knock him the **** out. Joyce doesn’t move and has zero defence. Tua is relentless to the body and head, he isn’t one dimensional by any means. His punch selection was very good when he had his opponent on the ropes. Thats where Joyce would be most the fight. Joyce wont beat Zhang next so no need to mention him with someone as tough as Tua

If Joyce had a semblance of defense he would have a chance. But he doesn't. Tua demolishes him.

The version that fought Ike beats him, the fatter less active one might just get jabbed to a points loss.

Tua got outboxed by worse boxers than Joyce, but he usually KO'ed them late and Tua isn't a counter puncher with the reach of Zhang and Joyce doesn't seem the type to get KO'ed with one punch.

But IKEA version Tua was faster, could also throw a lot. So I could see that version doing enough to either win on points or force a late stoppage.

Guys like Rahman also hit harder than Joyce with one punch, I know Joyce is big but big doesn't always mean your a huge puncher and he isn't. Maskaev and Rahman boxed at range using their jab, and Byrd was a slickster who was very hard to hit clean.

Joe Joyce is a 6'6'' mountain with ridiculous bone mineral density six times that of the average Joe and double that of a typical rugby player. This isn't John Ruiz we're talking about. Joyce's defence is terrible, but he's about 9 inches taller than Tua, who couldn't knock out Chris Byrd who four others have been able to knock out. He was also flat footed and wasn't hard to hit himself.

    You dksab.

Tua wasn't knocked out ever in his entire career. Not by Lennox Lewis, not by Ike Ibeabuchi, not ever. He was only ever knocked down once, at age 39.

Joyce would struggle vs Byrd aswell though, Joyce's slow ass punches aren't catching a slickster like Byrd.

Your bringing up Byrd's stoppages he was KO'ed by a ridiculous punch from Ibeabuchi who hit hard, and Byrd even got up from that punch. He also went 12 rounds vs a very hard hitter in Wladimir, the 2nd fight Byrd was already bit past his best. And his other stoppage losses were when he was shot.

Byrd in his prime was pretty durable with a very good defense, Joyce would have big problems vs Byrd.

Tua is very overrated, but he's actually a bad matchup for Joyce.

I like Joyce, I do, but when he openly jokes "everyones got a plan until they hit me in the face and nothing happens" and then proceeds to get hit in the face and stopped by an old heavyweight with a questionable gas tank and low output, I'm not sure how he would do against a prime Terminator Tua. Tua can hit, hes going to hit Joyce and Tua is not going to go away.

Tua has his problems, but he wasn't stopped in a long career either which included Ibeabuchi and Lewis.

By the way, I'm still picking Joyce to win against Zhang in the rematch.
