I was more concerned by his power. He hit Martin quite flush to score a knockdown but if he wants to prove his quality and credentials, he should be knocking out Martin, not going the distance. Yes it was an acid test, which he passed, but I think the likes of Zhang, Joyce & Dubois KO Martin. I thought Anderson was going to knock him out, especially on such a big stage. I wasn't too impressed. A good win, nonetheless.
His chin is adequate at this point, as he wasn't dropped by Martin's solid, flush lefts and a few hooks. But then again he hasn't fought any certified HW punchers yet. What's way more worrisome is that the much older Martin couldn't miss him in that round mid fight when he went for it. He was hitting him like a pinata across the ring. If that was another another good prime HW, he probably would've finished him soon after, but Martin ran short on fuel. I have always said he's super easy to hit, and not only straight lefts from southpaws but power straight rights from the orthodox stance. We'll see if they can or want to tighten up that defense. Next fight will tell us a lot.
He wasn't dropped and even though Jared was dazed he did recover each time. I don't think that qualifies as a glass chin at all.
Yep, he ain't mixing it with the cream of the division. He'll fight someone like Zhang or Joyce at some point and get blown away. And whilst those guys can certainly bang, neither is a world-beater. Wilder might actually kill the guy.
Any fighter In the HW division can be hurt, but to say he's got a suspect chin? Nah, Martin can punch and Anderson took them well. That's still yet to be seen.
