It's the right call. The other interim beltholders should all be elevated to full champions as well if those sanctioning bodies have any real integrity left. Won't hold my breath though. If that happens however..... Tim Tszyu vs. Brian Mendoza is a great place for the division to restart. I'm sure both would be keen on that matchup.
I met him a few months back, nice guy but yeah I agree, very hard to know what you're gonna get in the ring with him, these days.
It's funny how Tszyu and Floyd was never mentioned by the US boxing media when Floyd was at 140. I remember it well, Mayweather was on HBO and Kostya was on Showtime, so it was never going to be made. Still reckon Kostya would've iced all 3 of those dudes that you mentioned. Kostya was too well mannered though, he never called those dudes out.
SBW? Yeah sounds even more illiterate than Mundine I'm not even sure he's read the Koran the homies gave him
I just struggle with the idea that Timmy could be elevated to full World Champion status, when he gained the Interim title by beating Tony Harrison, who was ranked outside of the top five and hadnt fought for almost a year. And prior to Harrison, he beat two guys who were either just outside or in the bottom half of the top ten. Would make more sense to have one of the top 2-3 guys as the Interim champ.
I liked the idea of a fight with Erickson Lubin. Timmy needs more experience with southpaws. Then I read Lubin wants to move up in weight & fight Carlos Adames at Middleweight. Would the last Doodle Dandy to evacuate the Junior Middleweight division please turn out the light.
If the WBO was smart, they would stick with what they've already said. Charlo has to defend against Tszyu by 30 Sep or be stripped. They could keep him as champ until then which would allow "Undisputed v Undisputed" to occur as billed & then install Timmy as the fully fledged champ from 1 October in time for a title defence later that month against TBA. Makes sense to me meaning it won't happen.
