Martin had good fights with Ortiz, Kownacki, Washington, and Anderson too.

It is a Deep Division and the days of fighting 2 -3 times a year, mandatory included, was when a no skills slugger was not around long.
Watch some one besides Usyk and Fury and a few others like journeyman Ortiz try to cut off the ring. It can be quite comical to see.

I think Wilder is garbage but to be fair Foreman actually taught Lewis some pointers on how to throw his jab when he was champ and Lewis later admitted it worked wonders. Always listen to ur elders something Wilder never figured out

Well when a lot of people think of boxing they think of Tyson, Louis and Ali and their personalities that captivates the world. There are plenty of excellent boxers out there and im sure a lot of them would rather do other things.

Big, talented guys have other sports to turn to. One where rapacious shills don't try to swallow your soul and **** it out as part of your retirement fund.

That being said, if not for the inactivity, the division is potentially one of the most exciting, with Usyk, Fury, Joshua, and Wilder still occupying the top (big bangers, or techncal masterminds respectively) and great 2nd act in Joyce, Zhang, Hrgovic, Bakole, Ruiz, Whyte, Parker (the last two probably degraded to a gatekeeper level at that point.) Shame that the avoided Euro/Cuban guys (Sanchez, Makhmudov, Jalolov, perhaps Hrgovic) can't get the opportunities. Only option is to slug it out among themselves really.

Anderson, Ajagba, Pero and Clarke perhaps (doubtful) can still enter the spotlight in the future.

Boxing can't compete for the top athletes like it once did. If you are big and strong there so many other sports where you could make your career and fortune. Guys like Joshua, Wilder and Joyce came from other sports and if they had succeeded at those they would of never become boxers.

Same with Martin he came to boxing late too. Fury and Usyk in contrast starting boxing as teenagers and unsurprisingly they are the most skilled and are top of the division.

I think this is simply something we have to get used too, there's never going to be the depth like we saw in previous era's when boxing was not a niche sport and there were not so many other alternative sports for big athletic kids to excel in.

This era HWs would be one of the greatest of all-time if they actually fought each other. Or fought anyone.

Correct, this is why Fury and Usyk are so lauded for their skill sets. A high skill set is very rare today. T
