I disagree with alot of those picks. McGuigan vs Sanchez wouldn't be one sided either, Pat Cowdell gave Sanchez all he could handle. I think McGuigan could make it competitive vs Sanchez although I don't see him winning. McGuigan also isn't an ATG ? I don't really understand Armstrong vs Mancini either since Mancini isn't an ATG ? Theres quite a few Lightweights who could push Armstrong Mosley, Duran, Chavez, Arguello, Whitaker, etc. I also wouldn't call Palomino or Cuevas ATG's either.
Lou Ambers is arguably the best example of a LW that would not lose in one sided fashion to a prime Henry Armstrong, on the basis we know that to be the case.
I was just a bit confused by some of those picks, because its pitting ATG's against solid champions but far from ATG's. But I'll give a few examples of my own. George Foreman vs Rocky Marciano Salvador Sanchez vs Manny Pacquiao = Controversial one but I think he would handle a more one dimensional Pacquiao at Featherweight, maybe not mismatch but I see Sanchez winning very clearly by decision. He basically does what Marquez did but better and without being floored 3 times. Mike Tyson vs Joe Frazier = Again another very controversial one but I see the fast starting Tyson, getting Frazier out of there early before he gets started. Although it is very possibly Frazier weathers the storm and makes it tough for Tyson. But a slow starting Heavyweight vs one of the fastest starting Heavyweights is a recipe for disaster. Leonard vs Trinidad I see Leonard schooling Trinidad like ODLH did for 9 rounds, Leonard does everything better than ODLH did and wouldn't give away the final 3 rounds.
I’m admittedly only into heavy weights (I know that will get you slandered on here) so I wouldn’t know.
I can see Conn hanging in there, especially with Liston and Holmes who had more stylistic similarities to Louis
Yeah, I was about to post something similar. Marciano might win and win by KO, but Patterson would probably win more rounds and get a knockdown.
