I don't think he'll lose to Ryder unless he ages overnight considerably which could happen, but I don't see it as a bad farewell fight for Golovkin. Ryder is good but not too good and it's a very winnable fight for Golovkin.
Same thoughts why not take on a refreshing new opponent instead of coming behind Canelo, plus a fighter who can at least make your supposed last fight guaranteeing entertainment.
I'm happy with GGG's last fight being Murata to unify, then going up for the first time in his career for a peydey Arguably never lost at 160 and was the poster boy for boxing in the mid-late 2010s. Even at 40 he was the best in his division and avoided by all other ''champs''. Rest in peace, king There's no fight I'm interested in seeing him take. Maybe grab a time machine and fight Froch or Ward but that's history
Everybody who fought Canelo after he lost to GGG twice was fighting GGG'S left overs. Let that sink in.
i’m sorry, people were picking him to stop him in the first six rounds, your excuse of styles makes fights is garbage.
Canelo had him in deep trouble within 6 rounds. Ryder was ready to go but Canelo took his foot off the gas pedal and let him survive so he could get some more rounds in. He was having so much fun in there, he wanted to give the fans their money's worth.
Canelo lost to GGG twice? Your imagination's running wild again. This would be a fight of Canelo's leftovers. After all, GGG is Canelo's leftovers too.
Ryder was game, but Canelo didn't press for the KO when he had him hurt. He was very capable of getting the stoppage he just chose to be cautious and play it safe.
And because Canelo chose not to push for the KO. He allowed Ryder to survive. If Canelo pressed hard for the stoppage he would have got it but he chose to allow Ryder to survive.
Because...... Ryder still had fight left in him and he didn't want to put himself at jeopardy of getting knocked out himself. You do understand how boxing works right?
