Light heavy Michael Spinks vs Roy Jones Jr. Prime of course!

Michael Spinks though I thinks it close.

 

Spinks by KO he hits too hard with either hand, and is an even better H2H fighter than Jones at Light Heavyweight. Jones never fought a genuine puncher at Light Heavyweight, the closest would be Tarver who is a good puncher but not on Spinks's level, and well Jones got sparked out by Tarver.

I'm a big fan of both fighters but Spinks is the better Light Heavyweight for me, and Spinks will land on Jones at some point and that will be all she wrote.

 

A dream fight. The skill level off the charts but i pick Spinks in a competitive fight. He lands the trademarked Spinks jinx at one point or another.

 

TBH, after Toney, Roy did miss the majority of the best talent at 168 and he fought there for 2 years.. His resume is a bit shaky .. He probably doesn't fight Prime Spinks at 175

 

I’m going with Spinks. I think he’s more well rounded than any of Jones other opponents and especially if we’re taking him at his best. I do however feel that Jones’ skill, speed and athleticism would make this a competitive fight. Might go the distance or end in a very late stoppage win for Spinks. Great fight

 

Michael Spinks is undefeated in the LightHeavyweight division, and would remain undefeated in this dream fight.
Roy Jones Jr. tarnishes his image by extending his career into infinity. If he retired after the Ruiz fight, or at the latest after the Tarver 1 fight, the world would have a completely different image of him. He should never have lost the trilogy to Tarver, to let Joe Calzaghe do to him what RJJ did to his opponents, to lose the "rematch" to Bernard Hopkins after 17 years. And especially if the debutants beat him, in order to have him on their resume.

 

Wouldn't happen.

Close fight, till at some point Jones goes crashing down, from a deadly Spinks Jinx right hand.

I’ve never watched much of either to be honest, Roy is mostly mismatches and dominations or wipe out losses as I’ve come to see, very limited viewing and reading though. Spinks- I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed watching him fight, very straight forward sort of fighter, skilled but not overly eye catching- I think Spinks would win from what I’ve seen, he’s a big guy with big power and he’s not going to sit back and think, he’s just going to punch with Roy when he sees an opening with no hesitation and that might be all there is to it, serve and wait for return fire to punch through.

 

I see the label awkward attached to Spinx, what is it about him? I don’t see it. He just seems like a technically typical and well rounded tall fighter who did everything pretty good.
