Joyce vs Zhang 2 Will Be A Different Story

I like Zhang but I wouldn’t bet on him coming in prepared two times in a row.

 

He's always prepared, in fact I'd say for awhile now he's looked better every fight. If you watch it, the Forrest fight really was very evidently a health issue.

 

The odds on this fight is annoyingly close. I have Zhang by round 10 stoppage.

 

Joyce by decision second time around.

All he needs to do is implement the basic tactics vs a southpaw and box early. He ends up beating Zhang up badly then from rounds 6-12. Zhang is only a 4/5 round fighter.

 

I wouldn't count the Juggernaut out he was stopped on an injury and he just needs to avoid getting hit as much early on until Zhang fades in the 2nd half which we all know he will do. Question is how does Joyce to that? He can't out box him like he did the first time, he's just too slow to get out of the way of the left.

We've seen two versions of Joyce one who boxes behind a jab like vs Dubois which is the strategy he tried vs Zhang or the other walk right in and just keep throwing. I don't think the more aggressive Joyce does any better, probably worse as it would be a crazy plan of making Zhang gas in the early rounds while taking a ton of punishment.

If Joyce is to win he'll need to show us something new and that's a big ask from a fighter well into his 30's. If Joyce can pull it off, I'll be terribly impressed but my money would be on a repeat of the first fight with Joyce swelling up again and getting stopped on an injury again.

 

I don't see a different outcome than the first one, Joyce can't work on his defense so quickly, Zhang discovered his weaknesses.

 

Joyce has to come in heavy and pile on unrelenting pressure from the opening bell. Don't give Zhang a chance to plant his feet and throw that left hook.

 

Easy win for Joyce , he is clearly the better fighter wide UD or late stoppage.

 

I see Joyce winning a UD with few scary rounds early on.
Zhang has to damage the eye to win, Joyce has to make it to the second half of the fight with the eye in tact.

I think it's a 50/50 fight. If Joyce makes it to the final bell, he's likely to win a close decision just like Hrgovic did (even tho I had Zhang winning).

I would not bet on this fight, no matter how good odds may be

 

Same story, but a more violent KO by Big Bang.

 

I suspect that Joyce might not have been 100% motivated last time.

If he Joyce is more motivated and Zhang fails to put in the same level of performance as last time Joyce might win this one.

Still I think Zhang wins this.

 

Zhang will drop and stop him this time.
