About a 5, Steve Cunningham almost did it, Rocky has a nice right hand, and I think his short stature would be awkward for the giant Fury who is modeled to fight against modern SHWs. I would favor Fury but why not give the Rock a chance? He could do it. He could knock out a lot of people.

    Fury would duck him.

    5.

People get so caught up in the physical/size advantages of modern fighters. Brain, heart and gonads are still important. I think Fury is unarmed when compared to Rocky in those categories. But the physical/size advantages are not irrelevant.

Marciano is the greater fighter, imo, but there comes a point at which the laws of physics cannot be denied.
I'd give Dempsey a good shot because of his quickness, but Rocky was not quick, neither was he elusive .The size disparity would be too great ,imo .

NB I think Fury is overated, and that he ducked Usyk, so I cannot be accused of being a fan boy.

I don't like Fury and consider he has deteriorated into a con man,but he has never lacked heart in a ring.

I didn’t say he lacked heart. I said he was unarmed against Rocky in that category. I’d say that about others who possess heart. Implying Rocky is at the top there.

I agree. Just not on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday.

If I had to bet money I’d bet on Fury. I voted right in the middle because I don’t think it’s an utterly done deal.

Marciano will make it look like Dempsey Willard all over again.

    1. Marciano was not as fast, nor skilled as Dempsey.

    2. Fury was much much better than Willard could ever dream to be in his prime let alone the version Dempsey beat.

    3. When did Marciano ever put on a Dempsey-Willard type performance on anyone let alone an elite opponent? Marciano’s style was to break down his opposition late. He wasn’t an early KO artist ala Dempsey, Foreman, Liston, Tyson, etc.

    4. Fury was MUCH MUCH better than Willard.

Have you forgotten he blasted Walcott out in 1 round and knock Rex Layne's teeth out with 1 punch. He could very well beat Fury in 5 or 6 rounds if not outright ko him in 1.

Fury would have staged another retirement to get out of even being in the conversation of fighting Rocky.
