Inoue has had a larger competitive pool than Oleksandr Usyk, and a much larger one than Mike Tyson, 122 pounds has about as many active pro fighters as heavyweight does in total (both about 1300) while 118 has about 1100, compare to 200 which has 1000 fighters.
I agree, and 126 should be the absolute lowest weight class in boxing. If you can't bulk up to 126 pounds as a grown man, I don't know what to tell you. Guys like gamboa, pitbull cruz, rigo are very tiny men in real life, like 5'3 - 5'5, yet they went to 126 and even higher. There could be a guy that's 50 - 0, 50 knock outs, if he's 108 pounds nobody will care.
"The difference between seven pounds to a 105-pounder and 14 pounds to a 210 pounder are the same." Only in % terms, the difference in difficulty is overproportionate to the % weight difference. An Usyk or Wilder would beat a 315 lbs Miller or 328 lbs Valuev but the jump from a titlist at 105 lbs to a contender at 160 lbs is absurd, even though percentage difference in weight is the same. Size seems to have ever diminishing returns up through the weight classes. The idea that Fulton would beat Inoue or at least not get dominated and KO'd was based on the belief that there is no real talent pool below 122 lbs, where slick black American Fulton was a unified titlist. If you're a man as small as Inoue and a talented athlete then there aren't many sports for you besides combat sports (with none more lucrative than high level boxing, and MMA doesn't even have a sub-125 weight class), not many soccer players that size. And there are a lot of nations in the world, especially poorer ones, where the average man is in the 5'5 vicinity.
Why would I be threatened? I'm not emotionally invested in either guy. While I'd certainly favor Inoue in that fight, I just don't see him walking through Roman as if he's a TBA opponent.
I see you joined this site more than 18 years ago so you aren't a newbie and obviously have knowledge. Are you telling us that when you watch Inoue you can't tell that he is better than Chocolatito ever was?
Don't ever put Loma and Rigo in the same breath as Pac or Floyd. Inoue isn't in that caliber yet either but Inoue > Loma and Rigo forsure.
Inoue isn’t on roids like pac and Floyd and jmm etc were. It’s all natural and the best is yet to come.
I think Inoue should have a different nickname. Monster doesn't suit him because even when he is killing dudes he is under control. His nickname should be Thanos. One snap of his glove and MFers disappear.
