If George Foreman wanted to make a comeback to fight Tyson Fury it would be illegal to bar him

George won't even need a mouthguard. He can just take out his denture.

Well, George Foreman doesn't have an employer. So who would he sue for discrimination, exactly, if promoters didn't want to promote his fight?

    He couldn't sue anyone.

You can't demand a promoter promote you or you'll sue him.

Agreeing with Dubblechin in this, it doesn’t apply because he’s not an employee, he’s a participant in a licensed event.
He’d be able to legally fight if he meets the requirements of having a boxing license where the fight takes place (Aaron Pryor got one in Mississippi when he was legally blind in one eye), so he’d have to make a discrimination case with regard to his license rather than the event itself.

Yeah he probably still dreams about him and George duking it out in the ring. Both guys would still go for it if some sick promoter came up with the dosh.

If he's denied a license strictly because of his age, that would be age discrimination. He can't be denied only due to being 74

Not the promoter, but if a licensing board refuses to license him because he's 74, that could be discrimination.

You may be interested in this site, which gives details of the medical requirements by State - https://www.abcboxing.com/medical-requirements-by-commission/

So far as I've looked, no State's commission has a maximum age beyond which they won't grant a licence. However, most specify that fighters over certain ages (the exact age varies from State to State, typically over 35-40) will be subject to additional tests, required to provide additional medical certification and/or will have what tests are required, determined on a case-by-case basis.

Essentially, Foreman wouldn't be denied a licence purely because of his age. He would be subject to additional scrutiny during the medical/physical approval procedure because of his age. He would almost certainly fail to meet those physical requirements, because of his age.

George Foreman met the requirements in 1974 so he can meet them again!

if you can be 80 and in charge of nuclear codes, there's no reason George can't throw down

 C’mon, surely Ugly Kid Joe Biden can still pass the Person, Woman, Man, Camera, TV test. If Trump could, anyone can.

Remembering where he wrote down those silly nuclear codes is another thing again though. :D

 Oh man, Ali was brutal with the nicknames, wasn’t he?

Norton also called Larry “Neanderthal Man”. Perhaps even worse but “dignified” by scientific classification.

But let’s remember , Larry was an innately angry man without provocation. Haha.

I’m not even going to crack the lame joke about how Larry, with a normal sized cranium as at the time, found a female genie in a bottle and all he wished for was “A little H….”. No siree, I’m not touching that one with a 40 foot pole.

Anyway, if Peanut Head did fight Water Melon head George now, I don’t know that he could stand up to Foreman’s heavy “shelling”.
