Weirdly interesting fight which could end in a brutal KO. Completely forgot about Washington lol. A gas tank to rival Pricey’s

I was hoping they'd find a better opponent for Chisora, someone like Ruiz, Bakole, Huni, Dychko, Demirezen or even old Luis Ortiz.

Washington was KOed by Kownacki and by Charles Martin and Demirezen in his past two fights. He was never very good, but now he's badly faded.

I don't know what Chisora has left after his last beating and Washington (who started boxing at 27) hasn't taken nearly as much punishment in fights. But Washington is two years older (41), has lost five of his last seven (all by stoppage), has lost to three stylistically similar opponents to Chisora (Miller, Kownacki, Demirezen), only has one KO win since 2016, hasn't won a fight since 2019 (Helenius KO8), has been inactive for 19 months (though he seems to always be in the gym, I've never seen him out of shape in a fight and he's a very experienced boxer now), is taking this fight on about two weeks' notice, has essentially never fought outside America and is trained by Malik Scott, who quit against Chisora back in 2013. Washington is much taller than Chisora but significantly less durable, far less strong-willed and has inferior stamina. Chisora also has the better wins (Pulev, Takam and Scott vs Helenius and Chambers).

Washington and Szpilka currently have two mutual opponents as it stands: Wilder and Kownacki. Wilder stopped Washington in 5 rounds, 4 rounds earlier than he stopped Szpilka. Kownacki later stopped Washington in 2 rounds, 2 rounds earlier than he stopped Szpilka. Chisora later stopped Szpilka in 2 rounds. It's obviously not a perfect comparison but it's likely not irrelevant either.

I expect Chisora will stop him, perhaps setting up a trilogy with Whyte. If Chisora doesn't stop Washington it suggests that he doesn't have much left and should retire.

Chisora is a warrior, and ought just retire at this point. Nothing left to gain or prove.

I didn’t realize Washington was still active. Chisora by KO.

Washington was never that good to begin with. He made a name for himself for taking a few rounds off Wilder, when he came in as a late replacement for Wawrzyk who tested for positive for steroids.

Fact is prime Washington wouldn't beat current Chisora and this faded version of Washington has no chance. No power, poor movement, average jab, glass chin, Chisora will have no problem getting inside and working him over and stopping him.

With the exception of old Ortiz(maybe Huni), those other fighters badly beat this version of Chisora.
