Most likely it will go that way. If Joe manages to make it past 6-7 rounds, he'll mentally ruin Mike and can go with the better pressure.

Point is, Joe would have to survive Tyson's onslaught early, he could not survive George Foreman's early in Jan 1973, he went down 6 times in two rounds.

Yes, it's what the guy I quoted states and I agree.

Tyson (60/40-55/45). I used to pick Tyson clearly, but Frazier has a very good chance of victory. He has the power, defense, offense, chin, stamina, work-rate, countering ability & determination to get the job done.

i never saw tyson fight anyone who bob n weave'd like joe.

the early ko picks have a decent chance of being right, but 60/40 is about what i'm thinking.

    Tyson by KO, probably early.

Joe has a chance since this would be a slugfest straight away, but really the only thing that Joe has on Mike is heart and determination.

This match up is so strange for both guys, that it could be closer than we think. Both guys coming forward at all times, ducking in looking for hooks. I'd question a little how Tyson would handle that along with Joe's insane drive.

With that said Tyson KO would be my pick.

what Frazier has on Tyson is being one of the greatest inside fighters of all time, and tearing Tyson apart on the inside is pretty much how Holyfield did it in their first fight, Tyson does not have the reach or power of Foreman, but Frazier never fought anyone that opened up like Tyson, however I also consider the guys that stood up to Tyson's power and made it into later rounds with him, and really none of them are near the level of fighter Frazier was like Ribalta for example

This is prime Frazier, the one who went down against Bonavena was still green and hadn’t adapted his traditional style yet and the one constantly dropped against Foreman was past prime and neglected his training which Futch and Norton both confirmed. Prime took countless headshots from Ali and still kept on pushing forward. He was a beast on a mission that night.

Holyfield used to head butt. Marciano used dirty tactics sometimes.

I can’t really quantify why, and I’m on record that Joe IMO often gets put on a little too high a pedestal here although he’s an ATG … but I like Frazier in this one. Just a gut feeling. I wouldn’t bet a shekel on it.

Love to see Frazier win, but it seems fairly unlikely.
Yes some fighters took Tyson deep, but the come forward smotherer who did so was an exception-Tillis.

I do not think it would be enough to have Joe survive the great speed accuracy & power of Tyson early days.

    1. Frazier was extremely green against Bonavena.

    2. Tyson definitely did not hit as hard as Old Foreman let alone young Foreman.

    3. Frazier was not at his best against Foreman.

"If Frazier's chin could not take Bonavena's bombs in the first fight."

    1. As I stated earlier Joe was extremely green.

    2. Remind me who won that fight again?
