Both guys fought out of Canada, though Berbick was originally from Jamaica. Both were ranked contenders and both held the Canadian title at one point or another. Chuvalo was more durable but both were sturdy heavyweights who could also crack. How do you see this one playing out ? I think this would be a good action fight.

I could see this bout going to the scorecards. I do think that George Chuvalo with his effective aggressiveness wins the nod, Trevor Berbick, though sturdy would be nothing but a punching bag.

Does the winner advance to face the winner of Tommy Burns-Ken Lakusta in the Canadian all-time heavyweight tournament?

I think no matter who wins it would be competitive. And Berbick was a good fighter

I’d rather it be between Conroy Nelson and Ken Lakusta

He wasn’t flashy …but he was effective …he was extremely strong and had a good defense

I totally agree…I don’t understand why people are acting like Chuvalo is somehow a level above Berbick ….nothing on Chuvalo’s resume suggests that

This fight wasn't a million miles away from happening. Chuvalo eventually got stripped of his Canadian title for failing to defend it against Berbick.

These responses are crazy! Berbick was no Louis obviously but he was levels above Chuvalo. No idea if these guys picking Chuvalo have actually watched him fight!
