Marvin's style is terrible for GGG. He would pick him apart and take everything he had and stop him in about 8.
My same post in General: Well a few things first. The dehydration rules they fought under are different. So in actuality Golovkin is a good deal larger than Hagler and it kind of shows when you look at videos of them. Hagler is more fluid and faster. Golovkin is slower and more tank-like, and he visibly hits harder. He'd be in the next division up in Hagler's era. So this is not entirely a fair fight unless you take very early GGG who might have made 154 at a pinch. I think they are both very well rounded fighters. Hagler seems a little more flexible whereas Golovkin excels at imposing his game. I think Golovkin has the better jab and the heavier jab, and does more with it. On the other hand GGG's stance makes him somewhat susceptible to uppercuts and a sharp dude like Hagler would figure it out fast. Both guys are incredibly tough. I honestly can't pick a winner here. If we let them come in at whatever weight they want then maybe I lean a little towards GGG. If we make Golovkin cut weight to match Hagler, then I lean towards Hagler.
