oh lord. There's about like 90-100 years between their primes. Two very different eras with very different rule sets. At the end of the day if this fight is using modern rules then I have to favor Mayweather. He's one of the top 15 most impressive on film and we don't even have film of Walcott in the ring. Yes Walcott has huge punching power but I don't see him be able to land that often against Mayweather
These type of mythical matchups turn me off because we are only going by what we read. I've never seen any footage of Barbados Joe Walcott.
Yeah until Mayweather has an interview in a janitors closet on grainy film he doesn't stand a chance! Walcott KO1!!
The rules and referees discretion would have on overwhelming bearing on the outcome. 12 rounds would arguably result in a Mayweather victory whereas over 20 rounds I'd definately go for a Walcott win. Like any fight the style match up would also be a significant factor that would only be indicative of the outcome once the fight starts. Walcott might well run right through Mayweather and beat him easily and on the other hand he might not get near him in a short fight, no-one really knows.
