Prime for prime it would be a shootout. Both guys coming to fight. The only knock is that they both hit so hard that one of them wouldn't last the distance.. Gattis weighclass at 140 was 5 pounds north of Corrales s. But he would carry that punch up. Gatti with his soft skin would get bloodied up while chico nor Gatti had the best defense. Corrales took extreme pride in making lightweight. Gatti woulda been more comfortable at 147. Who wins this barn burner? I'd say tko late for either guy do to being wilted with shots, not being able to continue.

Who wins this war of attrition? Imo I humbly aforementioned my guess but yeah, both guys were gone too soon. Rest in paradise champions.

What an exciting fight that would be. I think it is a true 50/50 fight. definitely not going the distance.

I believe they both fought at 130 around the same time. Gatti vs. Ruelas and Corrales vs. Manfredy/Mayweather. If I'm being honest, Corrales is a cut above in terms of fighting skill and what he brings to the table in the ring. I can see him actually using his range a bit vs. Gatti and probably getting a stoppage late in the fight. I think Corrales would be the more powerful fighter in there, naturally bigger and probably the better boxer aswell--Gatti could move his hands well, and his feet too on the right night, but here I think it would be too tempting to brawl, and that would be bad for him.

Corrales had a better way to finish in a brawl for me. More power and would probably be the bigger man in there despite Gatti being a welterweight for longer. Diego's left hook was a real tool, had right hand power as well, better punch selection and went downstairs more effectively than Gatti. Maybe though, if they brawled Gatti would catch him with some stuff and finish Diego, but I find Diego to be a higher class of boxer.

Gatti has a better chance at 140 than he does at 130-135. But I favor Chico at all weights, as he was just a better fighter. He also threw very short, compact shots. He would likely beat Gatti to the punch very often, as his punches didn’t have to travel as much distance.
