I scored the Chisora/Washington fight for Chisora, 7-3 rounds, 97-93 points. I gave Washington the 2nd, 4th, and 8th rounds. The last two rounds were the toughest to score, as the fight turned quite ragged. Chisora was on the front foot for nearly the entire fight, and did his best work behind a consistently effective jab against the 6'6" Washington, who may not have landed a single jab in the fight. Chisora kept enough pressure on Washington to mostly negate Washington's right hand. I would have liked to see more body work from Chisora, but Washington kept both hands very low. Washington was pretty obviously gassed fom the 7th round onwards, and while he did rally strongly in the 8th, most of the second half of the fight he did his best work in the final 15 seconds of rounds, in obvious efforts to steal them. Chisora himself was pretty gassed in the final two rounds, but he kept on the front foot, pressured Washington, and landed enough to win those rounds. During the final two rounds, the DAZN commentators made reference about the ages of both fighters, but I have always liked Chisora, and I think he looked good enough that he should fight another day if he chooses, and the UK fans clearly still love him. War Chisora!
