 To be fair, he should never have lost to Washington. He was whooping his ass from what I remember before somehow managing to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory after offering him his chin on a platter.

The Duhaupas loss was completely unforgivable.

I'm not saying he definitely did take a dive against the Dosser but there is certainly room for suspicion to believe he might have. But lunging in face first with his hands down into the path of that right hand was beyond amateurish.

FTR, he seems like a really nice guy from the interviews of his I watched this week and he's a private person who likes nature and being away from cities and people so I like him. He's also had a lot of bad luck with injuries which have really hampered his career.

If he took a diver, it would have been against AJ.

Eddie watching dollars flying out the door with Joshua’s tentative showing and round after round going by (this after Helenius took it on a week’s notice immediately after another fight, and everyone knowing Wilder vaporized him).

Hearn probably sent word to the corner to lay on the ropes until AJ hit him hard enough to lay down, throwing an extra pillowcase or two of cash his way.

That loss to Washington was goddamn mortifying. I hung my head in shame, buried my face in my hands in disbelief and absolute disgust. To blow what was looking like a sure thing after somehow standing up to the bombs of Whyte, as a Helenius was demoralizing.

The Duhaupus loss was as shameful as it was inexplicable.

The suspicions are completely justifiable. But with Helenius, it's probably best to stick with Occam's Razor approach.:sisi1

I love Helenius, he's a great guy, and damn near impossible to root for.

I was actually high on him at one point because he looked pretty good and very powerful when he was coming up prior to all his injury woes.

2011 Helenius would have been very interesting against Wilder and Joshua. More durable, faster hands and no issues with letting them fly.

Joshua asking whether the booing was being directed at him or Helenius :

"I think they don't understand it is competitive boxing. I was watching certain fights tonight and they didn't look as exciting as I thought they would. Were they booing me or Helenius? That is the question, who were they booing?" - Anthony Joshua

If there were any remaining doubts about how delusional Joshua is, there aren't any more.

Yeah. His HL reel KOs of Liakhovich and Peter were impressive. He had a really powerful left hook and left uppercut back then too

Yes Helenius had potential but never quite realized it. Now he’s busy cashing out.

I know he suffered a really serious shoulder injury way back in 2011 and it was thought it might put an early end to his career. Apparently it still affected him and was causing him pain for a very long time even after reconstructive surgery and he wasn't able to train properly again until 2018.

Really wish Robbe had pulled it off even though it would've killed a superfight. :ohno
