IS cotto the new fernando vargas

i dont think you can even compare the two. i think cotto's a far better fighter in just about every aspect than vargas. you cant hold the loss to margarito against cotto. no other man could have withstood that kind of punishment and kept coming with over 100 punches a round. you've gotta give margarito all the credit in the world and know that cotto will come back stronger than ever :bbb

Tito ended Vargas career as a top fighter; By the time Oscar got Vargas all the juice was spoiled. Cotto and prime Vargas in my mind are equal as fighters. Cotto is of much higher class in maturity. Hopefully Cotto will not lose his sprit, heart and chin because of this loss.

 

atsch:rofl Zab had Cotto ready to go early, Corley hurt him, Torres hurt him, he wouldn't last as long as Vargas did againt Peak Tito or DLH.

 

Cotto is a better boxer than Vargas was and he was also more disciplined. combination punching, footwork, defense, body work.

 

And by Cotto REALIZING the inevitable (making him a smarter man) he will live to fight another day to regain supremacy in the welterwight division.Vargas on the other hand ,well even you are smart enough to know what happened to his career!

 

I'm a huge Cotto fan and his win over Mosley was a great win. An past his prime mosley doesn't stack up to prime Quartey and prime Wright. Two very difficult fighters to beat with tough styles.

 

didnt he win against Zab,Corley and Torres?? People need to stop wishing for Cotto's downfall.Like it or not Vargas and Cotto....No comparison there.Cotto will be champ by next year.

 

Cotto got beat by a bigger man. All of Vargas' loses were to smaller men. They are not the same.

That's true, all the fighters that beat Vargas fought at lower weights and came up to beat him. Cotto lost to a man that had fought at higher weights.
